The dont drink while flying comment is a complete miss. Cant remember the whole story but the plane is hit by a affect called wind sheer (dont know if its spelled right). The effect is something simular to losing the "air" that lifts the plane. So its actually a great flying by the pilot and he safes x amount of people by that action.
