OIF 2003 video request - TOW mistakenly hitting building

Hi all,

Last year during the ground war in Iraq leading up to the fall of Baghdad I remember seeing some footage of a US TOW Humvee firing a live round at an abandoned and stationary Iraqi AFV.

Well, this TOW missed it's intended target and slammed into a building of some sort behind the target. The second round impacted on the target, END EX. lol.

If anyone has any links or knowledge of this footage I would be very appreciative! :)

Ok, so to narrow it down, it's a missile that hits a building.. er... :)

I know what you are talking about because I have that on tape, but no way to transfer to computer. :( Hopefully someone else can help, sorry.

I didn't get to catch whether they were US Army or Marines. B25 - did you catch any details on unit and loc?

I know there was one where they're using the Javelin... the first missile doesn't work, the second missile misses, then the 3rd one finally hits. Most footage of this just shows the first and third, but I saw footage the other day that showed the miss. Same thing or different than what you're talking about? I don't remember a miss then hit for a TOW... I remember seeing one where they're firing a TOW against a building that's seriously far into the distance, up on a big hill.. that's also attacked by Kiowa gunships... that one?

Give me a few days (probably until next weekend) and I'll try to find it. It was the guy firing the TOW from the Humvee right ?

Hood - I'd like to see that Jav footage, that'd come in handy for our Anti-Armour lessons.

B25 - I'm almost positive it was a TOW Humvee and not a static ground mount, so I think you're right. They were definately after a stationary, semi-dug in Iraqi tank and the first round missed as I said above.
