Ugh, so I don't have to keep asking my mates in the future, can anyone tell me how to tie an australian military lanyard?
A few pic's would be appreciated.

I assumed that they teach the care and wear of ADF uniforms in basic. Maybe I'm wrong, sorry.

I never got my lanyard or any of my polys until I got back to my unit.

And did your fellow soldiers get you squared away or did you have to ask on an internet forum?

Hit doccumentation, then on the right hand side in volume two hit items of dress, then hit accoutrements and embelishments, then scroll down to lanyards. There is a description and a few pictures, remember to get the right diagram, left shoulder for the chosen ones, right for all the other cretins.

I seem to recall tying a lanyard once at basic training, and that's it. I haven't needed one since I finished training. To be honest I wouldn't be able to do it off the top of my head either.

You gonna stitch the knot down? It helps in the long run.

You don't want to know about the sort of stone age interweb I'm working with.

Cali Joe's dial up is looking pretty good right now.

I assure you, I am NOT a poser. You'd be suprised how many, from dig's to sergeant's forget how to propely tie a lanyard. And hopefully buy doing this, god forbid if I ever have to tie another one of those bloody lanyard's I'll know how.

Fair enough. I apologize if I offended you. Thank you for serving your country.

Thanks for that Stu, saved and now I have that almighty knowledge of tying a lanyard. And yes I have stitched the knot.
And no offence taken Zarak.
