has anyone used the Combat medic bag vests as a base for a fighting vest? what i mean is, has any serviceman/woman bought the Medic Bag vest base without the medic bags and put on mag pouches and the like? hypothetical here.....I realize there are tons of better vests out there as well as chest rigs that do better jobs than the LBV form or the FLC forms...but suppose someone's a glutton for punishment, that he/she buys a CMVS and deck it out kind of like the SPEAR vest, since its got LBV shoulder design and the old style back panel? reason i ask, I was sent such a vest, combat worn, but stripped of all pouches and bags, so on a whim i put on the MOLLE pouches i had on hand...seems to do a better job than the old LBV....and will have more stuff coming in from another friend for light testing purposes (paintball, display, selling, etc)

Yes, CMVS is much better modular base than ELBV or even FLC's. You can easily tweak it up with some simple modifications (using bungee instead of paracord on sides, replacing some buckles, etc. - just add an LC belt with comfortpad or a good modular belt - such as SOTECH offers and you've got a plenty of "real-estate" to configure it to your actual needs.

It's adjustable enough to be worn over a low profile ballistic vest contating the full ballistic package (plates+soft ins)
