Wow. It doesn't look like a camera perspective trick.

P.S. My vietnamese neighbor tells me that this pic is quite famous in Vietnam. And there's even a small poem attached to it.

Actully it wasn't a kid in the picture. The reason it looks like a kid is becasue she is a lady.

It's always easy to act brave when your opponent is tied up, beaten into submission, and numerous guns are pointed at his back. Great photo.

Agreed there. But didn't want to tell it to the neighbor in the face...

morals arent part of some people's culture? wow. some words there bud.

why don't you do some research on the make up of american armies during the american revolution and civil war. or take a look at some modern conflicts, perhaps those crazy teen twins running around in the jungles of south east asia. i believe there were also some issues of child soldiers in africa, i'm sure some during the bosnia-serbia conflict, probably in the west bank.

so are you one to be saying that all these cultures have no morals?

ok maybe i used the wrong word  how about i call it stupid and moronic that anyone lets a child fight a war? also, even if that person is a woman, either they're amazingly small, or they really are a kid.

its cool. i mean you're absolutely right, the war zone is not a place for a child, and some would argue a woman, but the fact of life is that it happens. there's not much you can do short of stopping war.

Never been in Asia, I persume. And the american guy definately looks tall even by our standards. Maybe even 2 meters.

Indeed.

Funny how few, if any, of these sort of photos these people have of combat soldiers in similar poses.

Makes it easier to understand why a MILLION of these little yellow people departed this earth forever at our hands(...I can hear rawkitheart warming up the keyboard... :D ). They may have won the war on the political battlefield, but it is obvious that was not the case in the true battlefield.

Had the Russians and Chinese not rendered material assistance, they surely would not have lasted long at all.

Afghanistan in the 1980's was worthy payback for that.

Given the enormous political restraints levied on the US troops by its own commanders its more than likely that if we fought the war it ought to have been fought, not foreign communists nor devil would have made much difference. However, it's likely we'd seen a repeat of Korea with millions of Chinese suddenly pouring over the borders. Spoilsports.

hey hey hey. yeah i mean i agree with deutrium has to say, although i would rephrase it a little. but seriously, when your losing 10 to 1 and no real chance of winning, people do crazy ****.

anyway if your going to be talkin' about taking pictures of stupid **** perhaps should also consider talking about somalians and the battle of the black sea or certain arabs and their beheadings.

--oh and on a side note, koreans happened to have kicked major ass during the vietname war.

I agree with Deuterium as well. But some of you act like you're proud to beat Vietnam if it didn't have any outside support. I mean, common, look at US and look at Vietnam. It's like being proud of winning the Iraq war, sheesh.
