Simple question: Is it worth getting?
or is going through an FFL dealer easier when buying online?

The C&R is good if you tend to add and sell from your collection. If you just buy one or two guns, I don't think it is worth it.

If you fax a copy of your C&R license to dealers, they will usually give you discounts

call you FFL, tell them you are ordering from JandG, odds are they have them on file, if not they have to fax them their FFL, but list your FFL as the shipping address.

pro tip- tell your FFl in advance. trust me.

I don't know about the curio and relic license...at one time I thought I wanted to get the license to be a licensed federal firearms dealer, so i could buy most guns, via places like shotgun news. did some prelim work, and finally got a call from the ATF, their guy explained to me that i likely really didn't want to get one, that it was a huge hassle, etc. and I chickened out and never got one. Just as well, as I have about all the firearms that I can house now in my gun safes. I didn't want to sell, just buy as there are so many good deals on firearms thru the mail.

I have a C&R, so far I've bought a M91/30 sniper with it from SoG. That's all. It was cool to have it sent to my house with no transfer fee, although around here that's only 20 bucks.

I have a terrible weakness for buying WWII long arms....just love em. Especially the Japanese long arms.
