Sniper Rifle, Machine gun, assault rifle. Is there anything that the G3 can't do?

He's demonstrating the belt pulling abilities of the HK23.

My CETME is a good piece of work.. The only problem with CETME and G3 is the ammo. Its like 10 bucks for 20 rounds.. At least for me that's a prob. However, if you ever find like some surplus stuff (i found some old Spanish 7.62x51s here for 5.99/20 rounds), and even if its corrosive, buy it, my CETME has never jammed no matter what i put through it.

Fired one last weekend.

Yeah they totally rock. Love the standard iron sites on the HK made version. Not so much the CETME made version.

Still get cheek bruised by the bastard. My fault. Years of shooting AR family of weapons makes me go for minmum eye relief and tight cheek weld.

Folks that are trained up shooting G3 do not have this problem.

That hump is in exactly the right/wrong place for me.

I was suprised at how little the kick was.. I guess after firing a 12 gauge, anything else aside from .50 cal, is cake.

I actually thought the kick was a bit high compared to the M1A

Never fired M1A.

Yeah, the 91 has more kick then the M1A. I still prefer my M1A and its Polytech M14S forged and heat-treated receiver and a Winchester barrel and other U.S. parts; a new Springfield M1A barreled action in a genuine M14 stock.

Wonder why that is.. You must have quite a collection there.

I have a lot of military style rifles and a few hunting. Over the years I have built up a great arsenal.

A friend bought a Turkish Licence build G3 last week, new in mint condition. As a targetshooter who reload the cases, I'm not amused by the dirty and dented cases a G3 throws away 10 meters, but it a very accurate rifle. I own a USGI M14 with all the match accurizing work on it, but the G3 reaches that accurasy right out the box :fork: ! Not funny!

What's the difference between a G3A4, A3, and a regular G3?

gbos

The difference between G3A3 and G3A4 is that the A4 version has a sliding gunstock (is this the correct term?) and its also a little heavier than the A3 version.

Sorry about that Devgru, No they are POST-BAN guns. They cannot have folding stocks on them (well for another two months anyway). You can put bipods on them if you like.

Some of the parts are HK but not always from Germany. Some come from their plants in Portugal and Pakistan. The rest, including the receiver, are made here.
