McCartney lashes out at 'meat-eating' Dalai Lama
Posted By Cosma 8 months, 2 weeks ago in Arts & Entertainment

In his never-ending fight for the cause of vegetarianism, Beatle Sir Paul McCartney has lashed out at The Dalai Lama for eating meat – and supposedly contradicting his Buddhist beliefs.
The famous singer initially tried to convert the Tibetian Spiritual leader to vegetarianism, insisting that it was “wrong” to eat meat. In his tirade, McCartney wrote to The Dalai Lama to highlight that meat eaters create suffering for animals, and that this fact contradicted a basic tenant of Buddhism that its followers should “not cause suffering to any sentient beings”. When the Dalai Lama explained that he had been told by doctors to eat meat for health reasons, this wasn’t enough for the passionate superstar. "I found out he was not a vegetarian, so I wrote to him saying 'Forgive me for pointing this out, but if you eat animals then there is some suffering somewhere along the line'.” He told prospect magazine.
"He replied saying that his doctors had told him he needed it, so I wrote back saying they were wrong." The high profile champion of the vegetarian cause has not made his invective exclusive to his holiness; he recently labeled celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay “stupid” for making disparaging comments about the vegetarian cause.

2 spoiled morons arguing over nonsense.

Dalai Lama, next to Mother Teresa is the most overrated public figure in the last 40 years. McCartney is an over rated musician.

anyone who has the nerve to say that eating meat is 'wrong' needs to live in reality for a bit.

Why does anyone care what musicians think? I think more highly of opinions coming from 40 year old fast food workers.

Oh like paling around with dicators funnelling money back to the Catholic church and setting up shelters for people to die so they can go to heaven as apposed to setting up real hospitals to treat their illness? No, Mother Theresa was a emotional con-job by the Catholic church in my humble opinion. Doesn't mean her intent was bad, but what she did and what became of her efforts were far from the great mother of mercy which is projected on us.

Former nurses have come out and said they were appalled at the lack of use of sterilization (boiling water isn't hard to do you know) and the lack of will to transport folks to hospital with treatable illnesses. These places were to prepare those suffering for the 'next place'... IE letting they die in their care..how merciful.

Anyways OT

As for McCartney, hes an asshole and loves to poke his finger in other peoples business. Until he petitions to get Veal and Lamb removed from British and European establishments thus effecting their economy then he can stuff his vegan hippie nonsense square up his bad hole.

Oh and Dalai Lama is a cvnt too, Self Proclaimed Holiness.. very humble indeed.

Vegan Nazis tend to forget that plants are alive too. Just think of all the silent screams from the carrots and broccoli.

Nobody cares about vegetables civil rights. :(
