Say again? The HK SDU is part of the HK Police, not the PLA. They do CT work, but they're still more akin to SWAT or FBI HRT than military spec ops unit like Delta or DEVGRU.

I`m serious. In TV there was a documental movie about special forces and they told that in countries like China, Japan, Korea if you want to join special forces you need to have at least one black belt in some art of war.

Also in my country we say "There are no stupid questions. There are stupid answers" ;)

You should have added "that the general public knows about".

Also, as far as I know, SDU had not been called on to handle incidents that can be truly classifed as terrorism. They are more like the LAPD SWAT - a police tactical unit.

Furthermore, not all CT units have received the same level of publicity as the SDU, but are just as good, if not better.

GO HKP SDU!!!

You realize the HKP SDU reports to the Chinese government who is currently in Hong Kong, and deprieving it's citizens of basic political and civil freedoms?

You realize that a majority of HK citizens don't think too highly of the Chinese central government?

Mass protest in HK (http://www.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/asiapcf/07/01/hk.anniversary/)
Thousands in HK protest march (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/3853723.stm)

And just because HK is under Chinese rule doesn't mean all HK public servants (including SDU members) are lackeys. Have you even been to HK and seen just how vibrant a place it is? You don't even need a friggin' visa to visit HK, and you sure as hell won't see PLA soldiers from the mainland patrolling every street corner (they're mostly confined in their barracks as agreed prior to the handover).

Yep , before 1997 china takeover , the SDU is trained by SAS or GIGN and GSG9..... but after 1997 , we think it is trained by the police force themselves...

Not overeacting are you? Basing me entirely on one comment? Anyway fact remains that the Chinese government gives the orders to these guys and as such they're a tool of the Chinese government and a tool in continual suppresion of the people of Hong Kong, who aren't too happy with the Chinese government right now. I'm not saying they're all evil monsters who kill innocent people for fun, but I'm just saying that you need to really calm the **** down with the cheering, hooting and hollering about a police force under Chinese control.

Oh and P.S. your DND Nintendo example made no sense at all.

suppessing the ppl? tool of chinese government? go **** yourself

hk is special administrative region. we have special municipal administrative privileges, and we deal with our own internal affairs without intervention of the CCP. CCP and the HKSAR municipal government discuss about some application of laws, immigration and trades, but hk civil service remains strictly privileges hk people enjoy. and the **** u are talking about is like saying the HK firefighters work for the chinese government. well guess what your brain and your ass are part of your body, so by ur logic does that means u ass is your brain? (maybe it is, that's why u're full of ****)

what kinda ****ing crap is going on in your ****ing head RETARD?

sources and links? i am your ****ing primary source. take that from a citizen of hk.

Sorry, can't upload more. OPSEC and PERSEC reason.

SDU maritime assault team, with help from Govt. Flying Service, conducting mock assault on a ship, East Lamma Channel. Left boat can carry up to 12 people, right one carried around 6 people. Some other came down from Puma helicopter and Dauphin provided some kind of air cover. Some operators carry M-16 type assault rifle, most have MP-5 and the likes.

Below:
Not SDU but Marine Police's RHIB and Cougar Interceptor. Tsuen Wan - Wanchai in less than 10 minutes, at around 70 kts.
