Yes that's true. But if the information is known to everyone else and its not violating OPSEC then I don't see how its illegal. Just because he/she put the information on a website it became illegal? Or did he/she publish SECRET information about the units?

If I am not mistaken he was questioned by Shin Bet because he revealed some classified info about Tamuz missiles (which was itself classified).
And Sayeret Moran unit that suppose to work with ATGM Tamuz.
Wrote bunch of stuff, like that Israel hides its technology from us (Americans) and that it's so classified that Israel makes extra effort by hiding it while American sattelites pass over Air Force base.
So, big deal! Israeli security asked him to take out and "filter" some of his site... I saved the original non-virgin copy of the web site... hehe :)
I don't think that was such big deal anyway.

If the information on the site had been illegal, Shabaq would have taken it offline looooong time ago. So the site is pretty much legal.
It's a shame though that there so few pics of Israeli SF.

That’s the thing, not all the information that was posted there was known to everyone else...secondly some of those pics were also not supposed to be made public.
If the information on the site had been illegal, Shabaq would have taken it offline looooong time ago. So the site is pretty much legal.wrong...a lot of what was posted there was illegal............that’s why they got in trouble.....they cant close the site for the server is based in the U.S.
I like the site, but yes they were wrong in posting some of what they posted, not to mention some of their opinions that they wrote on that site IMO were a bit wrong ;)

That's just wrong. The authors have access and Shabaq can easily take the access info out of them if the site has secret info.
Oh, and what opinions are the ones you don't agree with? The Tavor stuff?

I don’t get you here....the site is in a U.S. server, that is out of the jurisdiction of Israeli police, so how exactly can they shut the site down or erase the info that has been posted there?
Again they did some illegal stuff and the fact that the site has not been shot down does not show at all that they didn’t do any illegal stuff, for again Israel can not shut down that site.

How do you think the owners upload the info and change it? They have an ftp or ssh access to the server. It wouldn't be a problem for Shabaq to get the username and password from the detained owners, login to the server and just delete everything.

First is that what I said before I got from news articles on what happened to the site owners and there it said it is a U.S. server and as such Israeli police cannot shot it down.
Secondly the site has NOT been updated in over a year..........so A, they are somehow being prevented from posting any more, perhaps they are in jail?
Secondly they don’t post any more info, due to fear of even more charges being laid on them.
Either way, my original point is that indeed some of the stuff they posted were illegal and I believe from what I read, the authors of the site got in trouble and that is why you see no further updates, but at the same time the site cannot be shot down, due to it being in the U.S.
As for passwords and such, well if the authors don’t give it, then they cant get it……..plus I am sure the site authors told some unidentified people in the U.S. to change the passwords so if they are detained, they wont know it to give it out………..I mean lets not forget that isayeret.com I believe was originally part of specialoperations.com and I am sure their friends over in the U.S. are taking care of that site ;)
Anyways the last part is all speculation by me, but what I think is not and what is fact, is that yes there were some illegal things (well illegal as in classified) that were not supposed to be posted there, that were.

Hmm, why would the owners who were obviously ex-soldiers sabotage the police investigation and keep the offensive material online? I think they created the site with best intentions and if there was illegal stuff, they've put it there by mistake.
Anyway, here's the info on the domain owner:

Actually indeed they did take some things off already..............I believe in the beginning because of threats of being prosecuted, they had a whole section on the unit "Maglan" where they had to take off.........and there were a few other things that they took off as well.................so yes they did take some things off.
Which leads me to say, indeed they did create the site with good intentions and like I said before, I also like that site, but I cant deny that some of the things they did were wrong and they gave out a bit too much info, not to mention some pics there were not supposed to be posted.
So again, some things there were illegal to post and they got in trouble for that………….why you keep on arguing with me here on this is beyond me, but I think its just time for you to accept that some of the things they posted were wrong to post from a military security standpoint and that they did get in trouble with that.
Lastly so yes it is in the U.S. and as such that is why Israel can do anything to that site!!

I'm arguing about whether if there's illegal material right now on the site. According to you, the police wants to close the site but they can't. Why would they want to do that if the info is legal?

Why would they want to do that if the info is legal?oh right now............well first I never said they want to close it now, I frankly don’t know the status of whats being going on recently, all I know from a while back, is that from the articles, the police could never do it even if they wanted to, because the site is on a U.S. server.
As for what’s on now, well let me repeat, a lot of stuff has already been removed and if there is still more, and IMO I think there is from what I can read and see there, now if the police still want more to be erased, I don’t know and I never said I did, I repeat all I said was they cant because the site is in the U.S. and its pretty much a fact that on the site there was some illegal stuff and that is why the site authors did get in trouble.
