I think that the photo is from the Spanish Typhoon prototype crash last year. If I remember correct there was a problem with the fuel system that lead engine fuel starvation, first the one and then the second engine. The pilots couldn,t restart them so the ejected. The plane then entered a flat spin and crashed.

The accident happened on November 21st, 2002, shortly after taking off from Getafe to undertake engine relight trails. One engine flamed out at 12200m and Mach 0.7 when the aircraft was flying over Toledo. Decending to 9150m, the crew attempted to relight the engine, but at that moment the second engine wound down.

The aircraft, Eurofighter Typhoon two-seat prototype DA6 / XCE.16-10, was not fitted with a ram air turbine that would have provided hydraulic and electrical power following a total engine failure - in this case it means that there was no electrical power for flight control systems and control was lost in seconds.

The two crew - EADS CASA chief test pilot Colonel Eduardo Cuadrado and Spanish Air Force official test centre test pilot Commander Igancio Lombo - ejected as soon as the second engine failed and both landed safely.
