You could start by looking for books regarding the Dardanelles campaign.
Or go for something Ottoman specific like these:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ottoman-Centuries-Rise-Turkish-Empire/dp/0688080936/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1253656391&sr=1-2
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Osmans-Dream-Ottoman-Empire-1300-1923/dp/0719561124/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1253656391&sr=1-3
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ottoman-Empire-1300-1650-Structure-Perspective/dp/0333613872/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1253656391&sr=1-8
There a literally a **** ton of books on Gallipoli, plus loads of journal articles.
I'd start though, with old faithful (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Turkey-Lonely-Planet-Country-Guides/dp/174104927X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1253656469&sr=1-1).

What about the Greek history of the area, the Roman history the Byzantium history and of courseTurkish history. All this history and historical site are in this country. If you are traveling country wide then you are in for a historical treat, drop a line about how you got on there.

If you are going to Istanbul and like military history, don't forget to visit the military museum at Harbiye, also the naval museum at Besiktas. If you are going near Izmir, Canakkale , Bursa you may found Gelibolu (Galipolia) a historically rich place. It would be 4 hours away from Izmir or Bursa. I think Gelibolu worth a detour if you are planning to go from Istanbul to the southern cities.
