what's with the slogans?. annyway i just visited fsb.ru and to people who don't understand or doubt what these chechens are doing. THEY ARE PURE TERRORISTS. if they fough only the russian military, that would be fine. but when you start killing innocent civilianns incl. women, and children (!) plus torturing them, you don't deserve anny 70 virgins inn heaven or anything like that. chechnya isn't a big country, russia should do what US did in a-stan, just drop 500lb bombs. and is it really necessary to kill redcross workers? what kind of mujadeen is that?

I see quite a few pictures of russian marksman in Chechnya that are asian/mongolian ?.
Is there any specific reason for choosing those guys like small height or high stamina.

Truly speaking among non-slavic nationalities army service often more popular than among russians themselves. I noticed that in army unit entered into Nazran after events in Ingushetia were much asian types.

I don't know about stamina, but due to fact their native lands situated in wild taiga woods many of them have a lot of hunting experience and a lot of patience native for those nationalities what makes them good suitable for marksman/sniper roles.

Anyway i suppose Siberians are best warriors available for Russian army no matter of their particular nationality.

But personally, I'm supprised that so many western readers are supprised at the number of soldiers with asian features in Russian army... I think it's poor geographic and historical knowledge - just look at the world atlas :roll:
