In 1831 during antirussian uprising (it was a regular war) during the battle of Ostołęka (Ostroleka) polish artillery made a succesful charge against russian infantry! Our 4. bateria artylerii konnej (4th battery of a horse artillery) - 12 cannons under command of general Jozef Bem attacked russian infantry. Our artillery moved fast on one hill very near russians positions and opened fire. In about 20 minuts our soldiers had shot about 250 times (it was in 1831!!). Russian infantry had to flee and our army was saved from annihilation.
