My wife and I are trying to put together a presentation case for her grandpa to give to her dad. The man died back in the 70's so she never got to meet him and we're having a hell of a time tracking down some information on him. We have already applied to and received paperwork from NPRC and they are sending us his awards. What we're trying to figure out is what higher command his unit belonged too. My searching so far has netted a whole lot of nothing so I was wondering if anyone here could help. He served with Battery A 118th AAA Gun Battalion, and is listed as serving in the Normandy, Northern France, and Rhineland campaigns. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for the help. I had seen the troopship listings and had searched through the divisional TO&E's listed here http://www.history.army.mil/documents/eto-ob/ETOOB-TOC.htm.
