Is it due to the touchy past between Germany and Poland? Does the German govt forbid the NPD to use anti-Turkish slogans as well?

Black raven --> Symbol of stealing and crime --> racist
+ invasion = aggressive
The anti-turkish "Have a nice trip home" campaign provoke but they did it in a clever way avoiding a ban.

One might think that in the case of doubt, every unwanted slogan in Germany is racist.
Even the Greens were accused of racism in their campaign but faced no criminal inquiry when they put up posters showing a white woman squeezing the buttock of a black man and reading "The only reason to choose (a) black", black being the political identification colour of our conservatives.
Of course I reject the anti-Polish sentiments the NPD obviously has in spite of her numerous alliances with Polish neonazi groups. I can't stand how the state treats this party though. We're a democracy, right? And we can ban undemocratic parties. But if we don't, we should rather leave them alone and stop giving them the attention they drool over!

Spot on, Mackie. Those POS may be the smear left over after a hards day work in urgent need of a shower, but any healthy democracy should be capable of dealing with these kind of people without requiring the ban of thoughts. You won't get awy those anyways and a good argument always makes more sense then making ppl stop express themselves.
I rather have people openly speak there mind and thus make clear where they stand instead of all that secrecy and the allurment of the "verboten".

To be precise. The raven was a common symbol in the Nazi propaganda. Not against Poles but against Jews sand racist.
If your whole city is decorated with this crap I understand people want to ban it.
Democracy is healthy but we are a federal state with very different regions and one reason of the ban was social peace.

Depends if you prioritise public harmony over freedom of speech. I pick the latter, but to each their own.

It was a black woman, not a man, and the accusation was related to *** trafficking.

Take the time to read the programs of a couple of the other small parties in this election.
The CM pretty much wants to replace the constitution with the ten commandments and then put the sinners up against the wall. The MLPD openly states that Stalin's only mistake was that he didn't eradicate the petty bourgeoisie. Helga Zepp-LaRouche claims pretty much that the apocalypse will come if we don't vote for her. And let's not forget that the CDU just published a wishlist for domestic security measures that rubs the constitution wrong in just about every place. The Family Party wants to effectively take away the voting rights of anyone who doesn't spawn for the good of the country.
Being allowed to enter an election says nothing about whether a party is democratic.

Heh, I wonder what these guys would use for a symbol if they knew a crude black germanic raven was possibly the forerunner of the black eagle used by the holy roman empire and successive german nations to this day. Talk about footshooting
