Is EOD trained in Hostage Rescue now? BTW good pics.. Glad that the French Military and our boys are getting along. Hope both militaries get something from this.

It looks from the photos as if the "hostage" was holding a bomb on his lap a la "if I let go it'll explode" scenario. Most likely the french commandos stormed and took the building/room and EOD defused the bomb thus freeing the hostage. but I don't really know maybe that's exactly what was going on, ie training the EOD in hostage rescue?

It worked; thanks He 219.

BTW, it's interesting to see the commando-marine finally wearing kevlars; pictures of them with "real helmets" (noy pro tec) are very rare.

Probably the lessons from combat coming from the US operators rubbing on them. Or they had to apply US SOPs or there were a lot of demo with steel cutting involved (French army rules...)

Wow nice pics, too bad we can't access .mil sites here, they seem to have more hi-res pics of the French army than the French army website itself. :|

Great pics! woot

Interesting mounting bracket on the helmets of those EOD guys. Any info on that specific bracket?
