Hallo Fellow members,:)

picked this up today, trying to identify which country its from:-

Dark Green Combat Jacket. Estimate size to be medium.

Condition:- New, unworn.

Front: Concealed Pop stud fastenings with one plastic button with crossed swords motif.

Two upper breast pockets, with two press stud pockets and centrally located button under flaps, the same style pockets on the lower back.

Right sleeve has a large press stud & button closing pocket.

Left sleeve has upper large press stud & button closing pocket,

under this a open-topped pocket for a radio?

Both sleeves have button closing cuffs.

Inside the collar is a hidden plastic type hood with elastic cord.

Also there is an elastic waist cord.

Inside left breast pocket has a very small pocket with button closure,

this pocket is ink-stamped with the numbers 2 50

Only tag is an indication for washing,

Shoulder eppulates are sewn in place except for the outer 5 cms.

Colour variation due to camera flash.

Edit:- picture of button now added.woot

with crossed swords motif

Possibly Czech as the Czechs have used the crossed swords for years .

Is it something simple like this :

Hi panzerwerk,

thanks for your reply, the design is fairly simple (please see picture of button added to original post). However there is nothing else marking the jacket except the numbers 2 50 in ink.

I was thinking maybe Greece?

I think czech origin, because they use two pockets on the butt on the jackets

It´s old czechoslovakia combat shirt for paratroopers and recon forces with removable hood from pattern 85(vzor 85).It´s replace old pattern vz.60 (http://www.csla.cz/_kvh/vystroj/img/samopalnik1.jpg)(czech "strichtarn") alias "jehličí"(needles) in ´80s.
"Field-combat" uniform vz.85 is consist from:
- blůzy (shirt)- front (http://forum.valka.cz/files/thumbs/t_01_947.jpg) back (http://forum.valka.cz/files/thumbs/t_03_536.jpg)
- kalhot (trousers) picture (http://forum.valka.cz/files/kuvajty_576.jpg) - left is summer variant and right is winter(?), but im not sure.
- kabátu (coat) picture (http://www.earmyshop.cz/image_preview.php?image_path=/editor/image/produkty2/obrazek_2772.jpg) - this is photo with winter colar and hood

-svetr (sweter) picture (http://www.armypoint.cz/fotocache/mid/svetr_85.JPG)
some gear was keep from older(vz.60)-belt,pouches,some bags, chemical protective suit,gasmask....etc... and some was new introduce-waterproof bags from PVC, load-carry for recon forces, pouches for anti-chemical forces....
Pattern 85 had a short life- few years after his start, the czechoslovakia was broken and booth countries made their own patterns.
At this day is 85 using for recrut training or working suit.Surplus stores are full of this cheap equipment.

This is photo of two mebers of recon forces.
They were uniform for paratroopers-customized standart uniform.
Differences
Shirt:-Pockets on sleves,cord in waist
Trousers:-hidden pocket for attack knife, string on the end of leg was replaced by elastic, gaitors was sewn inside of leg-better waterproof comfort in mud and snow,in the front are 2 new pockets.
Recon soldiers used a "mutual" baret-one side was standart color wit badge and other side was olive or camo.Soldires wear them on their mission a lot.(more than standart inflantry caps)
