Hello.

I'm searching for a list of french veterans from Algerian War, but there's one problem - I don't speak French :-/ so writing in this thread "use google" will be not help for me :-P

first, a question : what for ??

second point :as draftee served in that war and as most of them are still alive will a list of thousand and ten of thousand of names will have some use to you ??

I don't need the whole list.
For example: i'm searching for information about the units in which served my uncle. He lived in France, and was as a french citizen veteran of this war. Unfortunately he's no longer alive.

If you are searching for information about your uncle, it would be better to know what unit he served in.

A general list of personnel serving in Algeria simply does not exist.

France had a substantial Polish immigration during late 19th and early 20th century and Polish names are quite common in France
