How does countries without any foreign military bases deploy their fighter planes during the time of war when the battlefields are say, about 2000 miles away? How do they deploy their helicopters in time to support the ground forces?

Speaking for the U.S., we're self sufficent with our Marine Air-Ground Task Force (MAGTAF's) that either consist of a MEU, MEB, MEF, and the Navy's carrier strike groups (CSG).

I mean other countries have no bases outside of their own countries, and they need to deploy their fighters. If they have carrier ships then fine. But what if they dont? How does that work?

What are you basing your questions from? I know that during the 1st Gulf War, coalition forces were allowed to utilize Saudi bases.

That's where a significant amount of politics comes into it! Afghanistan is a classic example. NATO needs the support or at least tollerance of Pakistan and Kazakhstan for access.

Most countries, other than a select few, don't project their power globally so they wouldn't need to move their fleets thousands of miles away from their home country. Depending on the situation, some might form regional cooperation agreements or get help from one of the superpowers to transport equipment or lease a base.

We (Canada) shipped our helos by rented Antonovs. As for jets, we haven't deployed them since Kosovo.

Usually host nations provides the basic accommodations for any visiting military detachment.

For example, our base hosted the RAF, the JMSDF, RAAF, Norwegian AF, Portuguese Air Force and German Navy (Starfighter Squadrons).

Their local diplomatic mission does most of the logistics in terms of lodging and transportation. We (USN) make sure they have access to a hangar, ground support, fuels and spare parts.

The USN is self supporting when deployed to forward locations such as in many places in South America. For example, our P-3 unit will literally stuff the aircraft with spare parts, tool boxes and logs in the Aircraft bomb bay with a luggage rack. The maintenance ground crew will sit on the floor of the P-3 for the duration of the transit flight. Once we land, a Navy C-130 arrives shortly with sonobouys and other ordnance along with Wing HQ staff.

All we need is a tent and magazine area for ordnance.

The US Naval attache does much of the advanced work with his counterparts in the host country. We try not to burden the host as they may not have the resources to provide billeting, food or manpower. Therefore we go to the local hotels and restaurants with a per dieum check.

It's impossible and costly in any other way.

The easiest way is to deploy the aircraft with fuel stops along the way. And everybody follows on a commercial chartered jet. Parts documents and materials can be sent via FedEx'd or by UPS.
