i'm looking for a specific way of marching, i saw it once on discovery channel. it's a type of march in which the feet do some sort of shake before they hit the ground.:| don't know how to explain it over the internet. Supprise mep-)

An interesting march technique is the traditional "slow step" of the Foreign Legeon.
It represents marching through sand.
Causes problems at big multi service parades, though.

I think you might be talking about the slow time march that bands use. USMC bands use it during "sound off" at parades. I think it's Brit in origin though?

During the 1970s many a dark green Marine had a funny way of walking, or rather a personalized way of walking. I remember it being called ditty bopping by the older Marines. Some tried to ditty bop while marching but that displeased the NCOs.
