Good answer from the President, but he could hardly tell the truth. People hate Obama because they can't separate politics and the man. It's not enough that he has to be from the other party, pushing policies that one side disagrees with that. He has to be a 'communist', an 'appeaser', a foreigner, Hussein.

And its not just public figures, who we might argue are fair game. The one thing I've noticed over this discourse, even on these forums, is that too many people just can't separate the political from the personal. It's never enough to disagree with someone's views, they actually have to convince themselves they literally hate that person.

Lol. Obama we hate you because you came in promising so much. That pissed half of us of from the start. The other half got pissy when you couldn't do anything. Then the few lovers of you left got even more pissed because not only did you fail to do anything right so far, you have actually done everything you said is wrong and that you would not do. IE, corruption out the ass (how many tsars cheated on taxes, ACORN!!!!?), failure to even decide on Afghan, refusal to take responsibility (Bush's fault), polarizing the country even further, reaching across the aisle (with a nuke not an offer), and basically let all of our enemies walk all over us. Oh wait, I almost forgot how he made the economy even worse. Obama cannot please the center right nor the center left. Hell, his approval ratings among the super far left (communists and socialists) is pretty low. Lesson to all. If your going to pull a Nikita Khrushchev and get into office by blaming all the former leaders, try not to prove yourself worse within the first 10 months.

Exactly. Although Obama's answer that 'it comes with the job' has a bit more class than, 'If people dislike me it means I'm doing my job,' essentially they mean the same thing. In that position you make decisions that rile people.

I don't hate Obama. I hate the morons that believed him, voted for him, continue to support him and that are trying to destroy my nation. He is opposed to everything I believe in and stand for as an American. It has nothing to do with his color, his drug use, his orgin of birth, his friends, his appointees or his wife. It has everything to do with his political background, actions and his lack of action. Besides all that he is only doing what he did in the senate; NOTHING you sheep! At least we have checked that box lifted white guilt and next time around can get a real President. 3 years 2 months and counting.

BTW; Bush is no longer in office. Time to start doing something and stop pointing fingers.

8 miserable years is just an opinion. I can turn around and say it was 8 great years. I made money, had food on my plate, felt safe, didnt have to worry, etc etc. I think its hard for people to give this guy 12 months because hes supposed to be so great and has promised alot. People look at his voting record and can see what might be coming.. When people start making promises people start expecting to see these promises pretty quick. People expect promises to be made in a reasonable time, not in the distant future. I wouldnt promise you something today and deliver 3+ years down the road. When people start to make all these promises and very few are fullfilled its hard to give the person credit. Im not just talkin about the Prez, but people in general.

Thats just my .02 cents.

You make it sound as if politicians are not bought and paid for. Change is the money you will have left in your bank account once it is all said and done. Trust your local, state, regional and national leadership as much as you'd trust a pedophile with a 6 year old.

How do you figure he is a spy? An American citizen spying on Americans for America.

Are you really Jewish? I find your last comment to be extremely stupid (particularly with what the Jewish people had to endure in their history) if you advocate removing a certain portion of the population for using their democratic free will to do what they want.

Forgive my ignorance, but what all bad things did Obama make?
1. Medicare:- what is the fine print which Obama is advocating?
2. Recession:- This is going to last for another year or two, how is the economy, has the decline atleast slowed down?
3. How is the job sector in U.S doing?
Dont you guys think Obama should be given some breathing space, as the US economy was in deep mess since 2000 , so it might take a couple of years to turn the economy around. I noticed all this trouble started after he spoke against current Medicare policy and and corporate bosses taking huge paycuts.
Even in my country, the Prime Minister being an economist cant do anything about the Recession. Food prices are spiralling out, and corporate Bonus is nowadays a distant dream.
4. Foreign Policy:- I leave it to the experts.

poor kid, has confused "hating Obama" with heavy disagreement with his policies, his international policy, domestic policy, his legislative agenda, his background that supposedly gave him the capability of being POTUS, etc.

I don't hate Obama the man, I just disagree with his stance, agenda, background, etc. Has nothing to do with race, or him personally. I likely would be pleased to sit down with him and have a few brews and talk. Seems to be a likeable, charismatic guy.

I think what we often see, the average citizen, is a reflection of a person that is distorted for partisan political reasons. The same thing happened to Bush. For political purposes, a cult of the personality is created, it is either for super positive view, he/she is the savior or for a super negative view, he/she is the worse thing. So who really is this person. I too would like to set down and have a brew or two and get to know the person better. I doubt that the Bush bashers where any more right than our current Obama bashers.

Personally I think it causes more harm than good. To fix things, we need to know what is actually wrong. Political bashing does nothing to help identify what the real issues are, it just gets the mob all worked up.

Probably the funniest part today is that some of the Bush bashers of yesteryear is now the Obama defenders of today. Turn about is never fair play or right. If they feel Obama bashing is wrong, then they should not have bashed Bush.

Personally I wanted Bush to succeed and I also want Obama to succeed, I don't want to see the US to go down the drain because of stupid partisan politics.

Totally agree. I do think that partisan politics are related to personal views on how things would work better (economics, less govt., national defense, gun control, abortion, etc).
It is hard to separate politics from personal views. That being said...people sometimes gripe about everyone tuning into the radio or television that usually reflects more of their own personal views. I don't see that as a strange thing to do....it makes sense to me that everyone, will likely tune into the media that reflects their own views, left or right. Makes for less stress in ones day that way, to hear your own views validated on televison or on radio.
Not a big television watcher myself, nor a big radio fan (haven't listened to talk radio in years). Watch mostly history channel and a few select programs I like.

To fix things, like you say we need to know what is wrong and get away from party line political bashing. Like beating a dead horse, preaching to the choir.
Personally I get really tired of politics, and can only keep up a political face for a few weeks, and then I am bored to tears with it. I move on to more productive things in life.

BTW, I am an avg. citizen. :)

Yes of course I think most people deep down know that every politician is a liar it comes with the turf.

To think one man can fix the global economic situation is either really funny or really sad. It was wonderful theater to watch the powers that be create a Republican monster that started two wars, helped degrade this economy and trample habeas corpus into a coma .Then take all of that anger and frustration and use it to fuel a massive unprecedented presidential campaign for a democrat that on the surface seemed to be the antithesis of the Bush regime. Now everyone is slowly realizing they have been hoodwinked and bamboozled yet again by the American political elite. How many times will the trust and good will of decent hardworking Americans be betrayed?

Breaking campaign promises to the American people seems to be some sick inside joke with these people. The more they promise change, progress and improvement the more things get worse or stay the same. It is unacceptable that Obama said he was going to bring troops back home and instead ends up sending more. It is also unacceptable that he extended the Patriot Act and is leaving Bush era laws in effect. This corporatist cabal in power is not concerned with making life better for the average American; in fact they are going down the same road that we got on in 2001

I didn't believe Iraq was the correct call but once we were there we needed to do the job correctly and we didn't so we are probably several year behind of where we should be in regards to both conflicts. But the truth is after what seemed to be a procrastination and many lives lost the correct thing was done and that was to increase our commitment in Iraq and it has worked. We may be able to leave faster than the majority have thought and should be able to support our increased commitment to do the job correctly now in Afghanistan.

It is always better to do right no matter how long it takes to figure out what is right in the end. The problem with our economic woes has little to do with the president. If the Congress does not pass financial regulation similar to what went through the Congress under FDR we will see another crisis like this much sooner than we all would want. No politician has fulfilled all of their promises except maybe FDR who promised the Americans a new deal and he delivered and the things that he did kept us afloat for years.

One thing that business is overjoyed with is the NYSE, Dow Jones Industrial, Nasdaq, and S&P 500 Stock Indexes which in reality do not reflect the state of our economy. Although the recession has slowed we are not creating jobs and it will take years to recover. Obama's spending will help but it can't do everything. Sadly this is not the day of the WPA and CCC.

Exactly, if you ask the average Bush basher the reason behind their feelings they will say most likely say because of the war. I don't see how that's even a logical reason, a more sensible reason is because everyone hates him because the other guy does, for example some dumba$$ pulling sh!t out of his a$$ on TV and brainwashing the rest of the idiots that don't have as much as common sense to think for themselves. Same thing is happening to Obama, how can we judge him if he's only been in office for a year.

Just out of interest, was the world all rozy and cozy pre Obama? Didnt think so.
Btw, its spelt "Nobel" prize. And I couldnt agree more, wtf has he done for world peace? Bill Clinton could claim more for his Arafat-Rabin move.

One must admit, both this president and the last one havent had the easiest starts to contend with.

And what Bush and Cheney has done prior to 2009 has nothing to do with it.

NOTICE
- - - - - - -
CONTINUATION OF THE NATIONAL EMERGENCY WITH RESPECT TO PERSONS
WHO COMMIT, THREATEN TO COMMIT, OR SUPPORT TERRORISM
On September 23, 2001, by Executive Order 13224, the President declared a national emergency with respect to persons who commit, threaten to commit, or support terrorism, pursuant to the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (50 U.S.C. 1701-1706). The President took this action to deal with the unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security, foreign policy, and economy of the United States constituted by the grave acts of terrorism and threats of terrorism committed by foreign terrorists, including the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, in New York and Pennsylvania and against the Pentagon, and the continuing and immediate threat of further attacks against United States nationals or the United States. Because the actions of persons who commit, threaten to commit, or support terrorism continue to pose an unusual and extraordinary threat to the United States, the national emergency declared on September 23, 2001, and the measures adopted on that date to deal with that emergency must continue in effect beyond September 23, 2009. Therefore, in accordance with section 202(d) of the National Emergencies Act (50 U.S.C. 1622(d)), I am continuing for 1 year the national emergency with respect to persons who commit, threaten to commit, or support terrorism.
This notice shall be published in the Federal Register and transmitted to the Congress.

...and the economy.
It's a bit to easy to blame Bush for his failed wars only.
