“The Battle of Al-Fallujah”
Abu Anas al-Shami (Shura Council representative, Al-Tawheed wal Jihad)
Dated: 3-5-1425 Hijri
“Abu Anas al-Shami narrates the battle… and the tales of the great leader (Abu
Musab Al-Zarqawi)…”
“Allah with his wisdom has desired to make Fallujah a stronghold of the heroes
and fighters of Iraq, and it has a special place in the hearts of the foreign fighters
from around the world that seek to support the religion and raise high the word of
Allah [and who have been] captivated by the stories and the scent… of the blood
of the martyrs. [Since their arrival], this city has been a nightmare that frightens
the Americans and makes them tremble…”
“America decided suddenly to raid the city in revenge for the honor of its citizens
[who were killed] and burned… [but] with slyness and cunning schemes for the
city… Rumors spread about the mobilization of 25,000 U.S. Marines to liquidate
the jihad in Fallujah... About ten days before these events, and at the orders of
the leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the military Shura council met in the city to
review the situation and study the options at hand—the result was painful and
difficult. We found out that after a year, the jihad was still not rising from the
land… We [Al-Qaida] have been hiding in the daytime and sneak about like
grouses… And the safehouses have been raided and the heroes have been
chased. This was a dark thought, and everyone felt like a complete failure. And
thus it was required to come up with a quick solution and a change of the
operational plan, so we decided to make Fallujah a safe refuge and an
impregnable armor of the Muslims—and a forbidden [and] destructive land to the
Americans. Then they will not be able to enter it except with great fear and they
do not depart from it except frightened and chased as they carry their injured and
their dead…”
“We agreed to divide the whole group into detachments that spread under cover
of night, who remained alert during the day and guarded the outskirts [of
Fallujah]… A strange resolution spread in the hearts [of the fighters who were]
longing for the confrontation with the Americans… The cells spread and the
brigades lurked… [and] hoped that [the Americans] would arrogantly raid houses
to detain suspects, without knowing that death was coming for them between the
moist sand dunes at the hands of [our] knights.”
“One of convoy of martyrs… was the deceased Hamza Abu Mohammad (Allah
had mercy on him). His real name was Nidal Mohammad al-Arab from the noble

El Saalt City clans in Jordan where he grew up and lived a life of rashness. The
mercy of [Allah] revived the death of his heart and [led him] to the land of
Afghanistan in 1999 where he received several training courses. Then, he
traveled to Kurdistan to join the fighting there. Just before the fall of the
[Saddam] regime, he moved to Baghdad and joined his brother Abu Musab al-
Zarqawi… [Hamza was] an expert in explosives and was responsible for
preparing most of the suicide car-bomb martyrdom operations that shook the
foundation of the enemy and his clients in Iraq… And the bullets flowed like rain
and the soul of our deceased ascended his Lord for his pure goodness… and the
jihad spirit spread across the entire region.”
“On 19 Safar 1425 (Hijri), [Paul] Bremer issued his statement that he wanted to
hold talks between the Coalition Authority and the Islamic leaders to end the
revolution in Fallujah. Not knowing the truth about the military situation outside
Fallujah, it occurred to us what we had accomplished by giving America a bloody
nose in this stage, and what a huge military achievement [that was].”
