Same thing happened to me, just that I kicked my toe under the door. Hurts like hell, lost the toe nail in that incident.
Well I've ripped of toenails before, and yet this time it hurts more than ever. :|

Pain is your friend, it tells you you're alive and right now it's telling you your toe is alive. I know it doesn't offer not much comfort. You can also say Motherf***er out loud to relieve pain, doctors recommend it.
BTDT, didn't help. I pretty much dictated the entire dictionary of street words and yet it still hurts.

Consider yourself lucky :). I was up at an RAF gliding school the other week (My friend is part of the staff there, so I usually go up there at weekends to score a couple of flights before hitting the booze with him :)).
There was one unfortunate guy, I think he was another member of the gliding staff, who was carrying around this brick, and he tripped, the brick fell, and smacked full force into his big toe. You should have seen the blood and damage done from it, for a while you couldn't make out the damage for the blood, then half of his toe came off....
Now the gliding staff don't have a building to laze around in as Health and Safety dept has condemned it rofl .

I broke the right big toe playing soccer. That hurt a little.
Didn't know it was broken until I got the boot off. It was like one of those sponges you put in water that turns into a dinosaur, only it was a toe.
All I can suggest is an axe, a can of gasoline, some RDX and a date with a piece of furniture that has cashed its check.

I broke my big toe on my right foot playing hockey this winter, the doc gave me 3 choices.
1.Get Surgery - cant play for 2 months
2.Stop playing, and see if it goes away
3.**** it, keep playing.
3 was my choice, and I still havnt gotten it fixed, the pains not that bad, so i just dont give a ****.

I stubbed my toe walking up my stairs, and I think my toenail was pushed back into my big toe a bit, theres this huge red line right behind my toenail, and I can't even bend it.
haha.

One time i was walking through my room. And my little toe got caught around the leg of that metal shelving crap. And wouldnt it just be perfect that my cat decides to walk infront of me at the exact same time, cause me to twist like a human being shouldnt twist. Well long story short, my little toe wasnt pointing the right way once i hit the ground, it pointing off to about 2 o clock now.
The little sombitch hurt like no other, i guess i just dislocated it or something, so i pushed it back over (never had that POP of a break, or the sound of a joint relocating) and put some tape around it and went, i had actually forgotten about it until just now.

I did happen to break three of my toes on my right foot when I was a kid. I was trying to ride my bike and jump up on the curb off the street. Yes, well in the end it doesnt help to go full speed on your first try since I ended up nailing the curb which sent me flying in the air about 3 feet. From my knees up I landed in the grasson my back but my two feet slammed into the concrete sidewalk breaking my right toes. Didnt help the fact since I had to walk home cause my bike tire was broken.
