Ok, I'm rather computer literate, but I think I've met my match. I am trying to open a search engine page and can't. I've tried most of them. I've done everything I can think of from removing all 3rd party software, changing the internet options, and a few other things. Anyone have another idea. I get the error message "Internet explorer could not open the search page." I've even gone to microsoft.com and tried what they said.

So, e.g. http://www.google.com doesn't work for you?

Precisely. I get "Page cannot be displayed" error. (404)

Strange... If you can however access other web-pages my guess would be some that you've got some nasty spyware or virus. Tried running an anti-virus scan & Spybot Search & Destroy (http://www.spybot.info/en/index.html) yet?

So you can't open google, but other pages work fine?
Try to find a program called "HiJackThis", it cleans up IE pretty good. Might help.

I cannot open ANY search engine. I can open any other type of page just fine (i.e.-militaryphotos.net).
