The idea of not eating meat everyday is scary? I think its scarier Americans are O.K. with eating meat coming off featlots. Cows being pumped full of corn and liquefied fat, only later to be pumped full of antibiotics because they aren't suppose to eat either of those things. I know the article is saying be vegetarian to save the climate, if that makes you uncomfortable, there are plenty of other good reasons to give up meat. While I am by no means a strict vegetarian, eating something that came off a feedlot is god damn scary as hell.
But those cows in that video looked pretty happy, I'd probably eat them.

Good luck telling Texans that they can't eat meat, you think Iran is a threat?
But, sarcasm aside I think this is just some stupid story for the media to make more money off of, it's not like they would ever ban cattle production or eating meat.

I take it you are for creating legislation on making meat less accessible, taxing it so its more expensive so less is had by the population to reduce greenhouse gasses?

Unfortunately, it also uses much more resources - which we shall need for ourselves -, than growing veg.

Humans supposed to eat meat.We supposed to get our protein from there.Protein chains and amino acids in animals are good for man digestion, because our body doesn't have to work hard to reorganize them. That's how we were designed by hundred thousand years of evolution.
Off-course we can get all vegetarian, but it would be hard on our bodies. And it would be hard on the nature around us-we will need much more crop fields.I personally do prefer eating fish, but still it is very far from eating different vegies and discusting **** all day long.

Hahahaha cool story, bro
Does our biology design us for driving cars, drinking the milk of other species, sitting behind computers, texting, riding rollercoasters, smoking cigarettes, etc. etc.
Not buying the 'natural' or 'biological' explanations for things in this day and age.
I'm not pro-this or anti-that but I always kind of found this a pretty cheap explanation

Don't worry- the malnutrition will get to them before we do.
If not we can always take the Everglades back from the Seminoles and build our own fortified commune. We will be like hippies only different, none of that free love stuff and none of those peaceful ideals. Then we can defend it and make a government free zone. We'll kill anyone who tries to get near it.
They might whine about the protected alligators we are living off of but what the hell, are they really gonna try to take back the 'glades? They'll have to bomb us out of there.
It'll be great, we'll have awesome armed airboats that'll make SWCC look like a bunch a amateurs. Also, we can raid the surrounding areas for women when we need to avoid incest once our community grows to a certain size.
It'll be great, once the hurricane season comes we can go raiding in all the damaged neighbourhoods, gathering supplies and offing people we don't like. Especially those thought policemen and Government types.
We'll have our own world and nobody will be able to stop it- like I said, they will have to bomb us out, we'll ****y trap the **** out of it- and if they do bomb us out at least we will get the best damned lightshow as the last thing we will ever see.

Count me in. I´m going to get my banjo and I´ve got access to an almost self-built home-distillery... do you think I will get this thing through customs or will I have to build a new one?
It's a fact that vegetarians have more gas buildup from the unprocessed grass that they eat. How will increasing vegetarians lessen pollution? When there is nothing to eat around, I try feeding on pizza, fish or salads and that crap can never fill you up for a long time. I'm a meat addict.

Daring is my second surname. I feel good about this idea - for preparation, I´ll pick up a copy of "Clear and Present Danger" and I´ll go under the guise of Ding Chavez. Seriously - if Harrison Ford managed to get along with these cartel folks, it´ll be nothing but a walk in park for me. p-)

My biology professor once said: "Being a vegitarian doesn't show how healthy you are but what your body can stand." :)
I guess the main reason why the U.N. says something like this is that the rescources of cannot grow as fast as the world population is growing.
Maybe be we should eat insects instead of cows. They don't blow methan into the air, need less space and food for them. Bon apetit!

Yup...the best veggie burgers are actually quite good. I eat them not because I'm vegetarian. I eat them because they taste good and are better for me.
Oddly enough I know a hell of alot of Texans who are vegitarian.
Lately I've replaced cold cut sandwiches with mayonaise, chipotle, 3 cheeses, pickled mushrooms, and fried pablano peppers for one hell of a tasty sandwhich. I don't miss cold cuts now, especially when I make grilled portabello mushroom and cheese sandwhiches! Hmmm.... Grilled veggies also kick ass. Still I'm a carnivore so I gotta have my venison, bison, and lamb as well as plenty of fresh fish (sashimi quality and eaten raw or lightly cooked when possible).
