Be my guest if you want to get your arms **** up by poison ivy, sharp rocks, thorns, sunburn, etc.

Are your sleeves really gonna protect you from sharp rocks?

When? When you're in the field? When you're in garrison? Whenever you want? Can you be more specific??

In the field, I definately wouldn't If you need to air out, just undo the cuff buttons. Rolling up my sleeves makes it really tight around my upper arms - heating me up even more. In Garrison, yes.

Oh. Then yes. Of course it may not happen that way. Back in the day...We had to wear them up in summer and down in winter. Sleeves down in the field, always.

Up looks badass, but I really believe that if you leave the cuffs open and the sleaves rolled down, you'll be cooler.

It looks bad ass if you have some biceps to show off, but you might want to leave your sleeves down if your arms look like chopsticks.

I never feelt comfortable with rolled up sleeves.... Just take of your jacket if its to hot...

I forget to consider the bad-ass factor. In that case I still vote "yes" :)

Gotta go with the "up if you want" on base. Out in the field, I'm not a big fan of rolling them up, but maybe it works for some.

I vote 'yes', but only if you have 'MOM' tattooed on your forearm...

On base or light duty off...sleeves up
In the bush, sleeves down...not worth the risk of:
sunburn
bug bites
minor cuts and abrasions

BDU's with sleeves rolled up to show nice arms = wicked sexy.

I went with Chuck Norris, cuz my arms do resemble his. So If they will change the reg. on haircuts I can sport the mullet just like him under my cover.

Nah, I was thinking of someone else. Although I'm sure there are people who think it looks sexy on you as well. ;)

The coolness factor is important piece of the foundation of the soldiers selfesteem.

Wish I had badass arms to show off when I do roll mine up, but for the moment I just do whatever the hell I want in this heat.

My Battalion used to look the goods with sleeves rolled up, black boots and our Rifle Green Berets. Now it's sleeves down and no beret because of the sun, and the black boots have been replaced with a horrible looking brown boot that looks like it's made of kangaroo ******** skin. :|

Occ health and saftey mate. Broad brimmed slouch hats offer better sun protection than berets and while slouchies are a fine tradition they aren't as cool as a rifle green beret.

Yeah, i get ya mate.
Berets are pretty gucci in my books, but a traditional ANZAC hat, with the side pinned up looks pretty nice aswell.

Mate if your wearing a number 1 slouchie with the brim up, you've probably just spent the best part of a couple of days out on the parade ground practising drill, ironing your uniform and polishing your brass and have well and trully had a gutfull (unless it's ANZAC or Long Tan day and you're looking forward go geting a gut full of piss :P ) .

ahh, I just had my sleeves whatever feels right. When I was called up for the flood, I had my sleeves up for the whole time... the whole 30 hours.
