You forgot to mention that the site is a ludicrously inaccurate piece of propagandized snake dung, and that most of the videos document acts of terrorism. If you don't like Russians or just like to see people blown apart by roadside bombs, it is for you. I guess they took down the videos of them cutting Russian soldier's heads off and executing prisoners.

Only several units tested the weapon there. We've met with one last summer.
They all said the same thing. The most accurate weapon they ever shot, but too complicated for a regular soldier.

So most likely they'd give it to Spetnaz units? Like we are prob doing with the XM-8 in Iraq?

It took you three posts to explain your refference to "good" "military" videos from Kavkazcenter - organization, soul purpose of which, to spread misinformation, footage of mutilation of prisoners of war, civilians and quiestionable attacks on targets, half of which just happened to be public safety services. You could have refferenced the two particular videos - instead you link to the entire despised website and then complain that people get "touchy" over it. Use your noggin - these are events that are happening today and have personally affected members on the forum.
Be clear about what you say and perhaps you should use your "abstract thinking" and apologize when you slip insensitive remarks instead of throwing unsupported counter accusations.

In shoes of some other users I would fill that 3 posts with "****s", "fuks", and other ofensive content, but I haven't.
You said that videos aren't trustwoth, are those clips photoshoped? I told you I use those videos as technical reference not as ideological info about conflict and I couldn't care less about ideology. Kavkaz has combat videos(there is also few other similiar videos I didn't mentioned) you want it or not. Some are good combat shots and you can't change it whatever you say. If someone is touched by discussing such videos he shouldn't browse militaryphotos.net, because this is place were combat videos are and will be discussed, reverse enginered without deep personal wiev on it...
Be clear about what you say and perhaps you should use your "abstract thinking" and apologize when you slip insensitive remarks instead of throwing unsupported counter accusations.
I'm clear as much as I can. Apologize for what? AIDS? wars? starvation? and maybe whooping-cough and hailstorm? I will not apologize for my opinions because someone "think" they are insensitive. They were neutral told in public place not in dead man's house and about matters not directly linked to men who died there :cantbeli: ... As for not suported accustations, I used phrase "some of you" and I meant mainly PermskiiOMON, who doesn't do sensitive remarks in context of fotages of mentioned CS Iraqi guy, Guys killed from apache, Chechens humiliated by russian soldiers etc, everything is here...And I assure you he made it intentionaly not by effect of missunderstoonding.

Maybe those Russian phones have been mistreated *a bit*. Nobody actually uses them anymore, we’re just required to know how to use ‘em. And besides, the Swedish field-phone we mainly used was superior to that in every way. And just about impossible to break*, too :D

You would be in the clear if you refferenced two particular videos and NOT Kavkaz Center with 99% of its other gorish garbage. You would be in the clear and understood if you used any other words as "good".
There is a world of difference between "military", "combat" videos and terrorist acts - concealing yourself amongst civilian population, walking out into the backyard with "Igla", taking a potshot at hovering helicopter and merging back among civilians is quite different. What did you learn from two forementioned videos? Do you know how to arm, target and fire "Igla"? Or did you learn that military personel is most vulnerable when assisting/guarding peaceful population? The Mi-8 in the video, does not have rocket pods blazing, making "Afgans" and shooting flairs - as a matter of fact, it has no armaments visible on board. The men on BTR are no different from the ambulances and civilian vehicles hitting IED's - what is so educational about setting IED's???
Kavkaz Center is a "misinformation center" - many members on this board plea not to have it refferenced - it states false accounts of rescent military actions, shows execution videos that Chechen terrorists use to fund their crimes and excuses attacks against civilians as "attacks against FSB agents"... The two videos in quiestion are not edited and as authentic as can be - however, calling them "good" is still insulting.
Well, let's see - the reason why you caught some major Flak, is because you referenced the Kavkaz Center and not two videos in quiestion - do understand that, at least. Just because the site has two videos you find something "educational" - does not mean you can make a blanket statement mistakenly taken as refferal to a collection of gore videos depicting mutilation, torture and ambushes on civilians and military personel.
I mentioned our beloved friend Permskii, just scan through his posts. Here is one example for you for free, first post, intentionaly posted very ofensive content, but was first here to whine about my remark :cantbeli: :

Well, particular member of the board has direct relation to the events you call "good". You can only be so "objective" when "military operations" come home. Are their any Iraqi insurgents or their relatives on this Web Board? Are their people on this board that think, that Iraqi in the video should have made that shot and went home to have tea with his family?
The man in the forementioned video - was targeting a coalition vehicle with an RPG, with aim to kill coalition soldiers (some of the members on this web board and personal friends). He was killed by return fire and captured on film by a news camera (???) He was Iraqi insurgent - now he is KIA in a failed attempt to take lives - one less scum to go around.
The two videos in quiestion, were shot by terrorists to prove their actions against the russians and collect $$$ from one shady terrorist cell or another. The $$$ that goes to prolong the conflict, buy more weapons and prevent peace from setting roots in the region...
Understand the difference?

I don't make statistics how big percentage of that page is ****. I even don't know. I don't click on beheadings, cuting fingers, throats, etc and I'm rare quest of that site. I agree there is prolly full of **** maybe even mentioned 99% page is **** and eventualy worth only closing. I don't defend that page, I only try to say it has materials worth seeing...
I'm not terrorist so I didn't searched for practical info about homing missiles like launching procedures and aiming. But I know that choper didn't fellt apart, pilots have control over choper to the last moments and could survive if not hard terrain, etc..., And iglas works better when shot at back than front so this wasn't act of cowardiance from chechen side.
As for IED, there was many discussion here about riding on top of armor, I haven't made definite conclusion yet but this was helpfull in checking others arguments. From that clip you could also learn that ambushers used many secondary IEDs to improve efectivness of ambush...
Lack or existance of link between forum users and events showed on videos isn't argument for moral relativism. Watching such videos isn't obligatory and person who has emotional relation to such materials don't need to take part in discussion and look at it. On other hand tearing from dignity dying person just because no one knows guy and noobady cares is as much bad as laughing at tragedy of known people.
As for reason to make videos on Kavkaz. Every movie is made do document things. As I said I don't judge motives of persons. I don't have knowledge to do so nor this is my job. I mostly agree with things you said about that page,, and I understand why you are mad at me, but I'll still defen my opinion that some of the page military not criminal content is worth looking and discussing without engaging in ideological origins of conflict or source of them ...

Strange argument you are having, all of you.
If someone likes "so called educational military and not criminal (how do you define terrorism, mate?
Act of god?)" let him watch it, after all it's the wonder of the Internet - access to the information.
No need to get mad at someone, who doesn't see that as wrong, after all you cannot teach a dog new tricks.
However, having said that, you should not promote it, don't forget it's propaganda and actually traumatise people,
stir hatred (racial and religious) which is also against the law.

Appologies, if it seemed like me having a go at you, but nonetheless, the
stuff you are talking about isn't pretty and to be honest you cannot really

You were saying about shooting down a chopper, I guess it's Mi-26 (big cargo). Unfortunately it was overloaded beyond its technical specs, but none the less it took off. Shooting down one engine will pretty much knock anything out in these conditions, plus landing on the minefield nullified their chances of survival. The PZRK Igla you are talking about is a heat seeker, so natually will aim at the engine exausts.
Just like in anything, before you do something, study!
And shooting their PR guy, sorry to say is a criminal act , as most of their activities
(apart from sleeping, eating and the like).
Anyways, if let's say iragis released similar videos doing stuff to polish troops,
i'm sure you wouldn't be so "pro-educational" would you? (My guesses you are from Poland)

Thanks for nice insult :) ... Shoting down military choper ussualy isn't criminal act, beheading is... Yu see I wasn't traumatised(maybe because I didn't watched gore videos) or persuaded to believes of guys from kavkaz and I don't think anyone could be if he didn't have tendences before browsing this site... They should shot their PR guy... Any "promotion" I can think of is only among fans of rotten and gorish...
Appologies, if it seemed like me having a go at you, but nonetheless, the
stuff you are talking about isn't pretty and to be honest you cannot really
learn a great deal from them, can you?

I haven't seen mi-26 crash on kavkaz, is this is that crash where ~118 russian soldiers were kiled? I was talking about Mi-24 shot over some hills, with was descending on gyro, but landed on trees or hill side and exploded... As for Polish guys I wouldn't mind disscusion here about such videos if they would be treated with minimal respect and wouldn't contain any intentionaly graphic content like behaedings etc, we also send reporters and camers to document actions there is nothing wrong in it. As for other more dirastic videos I don't have ready answer...
