America has its own Taliban movement: They are called social conservatives, they come from the Christian right, and Bush is thier leader.

Thier goals are quite simple: Destroy the seperation of church and state and introduce theocratic Christian rule in America, to make schools places of Christian indoctrination inhospitable to religious minorities, athiests, and agnostics, to alter the constitution and destroy free speech, to destroy a womans right to choose as well as illegalize any form of contraception, to make *** out of wedlock and the use of a condom to prevent disease and unwanted pregnancy a crime punishable by jail and to allow the government the right to spy on citizens to make sure they are acting in a "moral" fashion. In short, they seek to create an Iranian style old world system based on fundementalist interpretation of Christian moral principles derived from the bible.......a sort of christian holy rule....much like the Muslum theocratic rule in Tehran Iran.....They seek to outlaw games, music, dress codes, movies, books, and any speech that does not adhere to Christian pricniples.........

How to defeat them? Vote Democratic....or vote for a Republican like John McCain, Collin Powell, etc......There are Republicans out there who still support small government that has no buisness preeching about what goes on inside peoples homes....There are still Republicans who believe govent has no buisness spying on Americans.....There are still Republicans that believe in religious freedom and strong seperation of church and state.....Republican does not necesarrily equal "social conservative"........So anyway, vote for any side accept Bush and get his radical Taliban wannabe style of government out of office before it destroys the glue that holds America together......which isnt God (Bush thinks he is the hand of God on earth by the way) but FREEDOM and RIGHTS (which are not garaunteed by God otherwise everyone would have them but it sure sounds good to say "inalienable God given rights doesnt it??)......

But on a serious note, I do think the Republican Party which I used to support has been hijacked by the social conservatives........Im kinda considering myself to be an "independent" or a "centrist" at the moment because I am so fed up with Bush......

My views are best characterised this way: Socially I am a liberal, in terms of domestic policy a Republican/liberal, in terms of foreign policy I am a liberal, in terms of the military I am a Republican, in terms of faith I am neither.....

On the issues of abortion, contraception, gay rights these are my views:

I am against late term abortion and I feel that as soon as the baby has any physical capacity to think or feel any kind of suffering, abortion should be illegal.....But I support early abortion when there are still no nerve endings, brain, etc........The only time I support late term abortion is if it is necesarry to save the mothers life in the opinion of trained medical professionals.......The mother always has the right to protect her own life if she so chooses just as we all have the right to kill in self defense of our own lives......

When people ask me "what about the mothers right to chose" I typically respond with this: "I believe in the right to choose just like you, except that I dont ignore the babies right to chose its own life ounce it becomes a full blown living thing that is self aware.....I believe that ounce a living human shows scientific proof that it is self aware, than even if it cant communicate its own feelings to the outside it must prior be assumed that it chooses life until that can be otherwise disproven.....which of course means it will always choose life and thus its choice must be honored by all.........unless of course there are complications that risk the mothers life.....

With regards to "gay rights" I support the right of gays to have unions...I understand that people are all different and that I may not agree with a persons personal actions or choices but still support thier rights to take those actions..I consider that aspect of life to be private and outside the realm of the federal government.....Although I am personally revolted by it and I disagree with it, I agree with thier rights to do it........In a nutshell I believe in a persons right to take any private or personal actions they wish as long as they do not harm the rights of others......and I dont consider one man being with another to have any effect on my own life.......Exmaple: A man gets drunk in his house: I do not drink but I support his rights to drink......A man gets drunk and drives: I have a problem with this because he is seriously endangering the lives, and thus the rights, of others.......

On contraception, I of course support it, as with peoples rights to have *** before mairage...Again, I personally am saving myself for mairrage but that is a private decision of mine and my girlfriends and nobody has the right to order me or her either way on that.....Many of my freinds do not act as I do but they should have that right to make that decision.....period....And I support condoms as I plan to use one even after I am married unless we decided to try for a baby right away......Many married couples use birth control of various kinds if they do not feel ready to have a baby at the time........

I guess I support peoples rights in general to take actions....I try to understand that nobody else on this earth is ecactly the same and nobody else on this earth will agree completely with anyone else on every issue, so there has to be some flex in the social, political, ecnomic, system to accomadate all these differences or else it will break down and lead to chaos.........I think people ought to have as much freedom and as many rights as possible without infringing on others basic rights to life and liberty.........

Here they tell you fantasy games i.e Dungeons and Dragons, secular music, and not to mention fantasy like books will secure your seat in HELL. Thier goals are quite simple: Destroy the seperation of church and state and introduce theocratic Christian rule in America, to make schools places of Christian indoctrination inhospitable to religious minorities, athiests, and agnostics, to alter the constitution and destroy free speech, to destroy a womans right to choose as well as illegalize any form of contraception, to make *** out of wedlock and the use of a condom to prevent disease and unwanted pregnancy a crime punishable by jail and to allow the government the right to spy on citizens to make sure they are acting in a "moral" fashion. In short, they seek to create an Iranian style old world system based on fundementalist interpretation of Christian moral principles derived from the bible.......a sort of christian holy rule....much like the Muslum theocratic rule in Tehran Iran.....They seek to outlaw games, music, dress codes, movies, books, and any speech that does not adhere to Christian pricniples.........

How to defeat them? Vote Democratic....or vote for a Republican like John McCain, Collin Powell, etc......There are Republicans out there who still support small government that has no buisness preeching about what goes on inside peoples homes....There are still Republicans who believe govent has no buisness spying on Americans.....There are still Republicans that believe in religious freedom and strong seperation of church and state.....Republican does not necesarrily equal "social conservative"........So anyway, vote for any side accept Bush and get his radical Taliban wannabe style of government out of office before it destroys the glue that holds America together......which isnt God (Bush thinks he is the hand of God on earth by the way) but FREEDOM and RIGHTS (which are not garaunteed by God otherwise everyone would have them but it sure sounds good to say "inalienable God given rights doesnt it??)......
