What is that attachment on the feeding cover? Specific Sight? Anyone pls?

I cant really see the picture well, but I read on another forum that it is a night vision mount. Please correct me if Im wrong. Just some thoughts.

Yes, it is a mount for devices such as the AN/PVS-4 or AN/PAQ-4C.
