Is the Pbv 301 a direct conversion of the Hetzer or are there major changes?

No, but they are related, but the pbv 301 is developed from Stridsvagn m/41, which is the swedish model of the PzKpw38(t). As you may know is the Hetzerīs orgin the PzKpw38(t)
