A brief history of this unit..

When the Axis invasion of the Soviet Union, began on June 22, 1941. On the same day, Yugoslav Partisans formed the 1st Sisak Partisan Detachment, the first armed resistance unit in Europe. Founded in the Brezovica forest near Sisak, Croatia, its creation marked the beginning of anti-Axis resistance in occupied Yugoslavia.

Sorry but first anti fascist partisan units in Europe were created in Poland around October 1939, like Maj. Dobrzański "Hubal" unit. His unit was created mainly from polish soldiers who decided to not give up after lost campaign and instead continued to fight until April 1940 when unit was destroyed by Germans.


P.S. If you know earlier created unit feel free to correct me.

Sorry but first anti fascist unit in europe wos TIGR created by Slovenes and
Croats in 1920 for fighting against italian ocupators. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TIGR
