My French is non-existent...
Anyone to translate, if the "Vz58 Commando" seen in attached forum link is a commercial model or just a modificiation by some creative individual?

Didn't find any mention by CZ though, so I guess it's not one of their models...
Merci beaucoup!

it's a personal modification, but the short barreled version already exists, try the differents links in the thread.

Thanks for help, Lirelou.
Did some searching on this forum and found a topic regarding Vz58 mods. There indeed is a company who manufactures these shortened models: http://www.luvo.cz/products/rifles/index.html.

The short-barelled civilian versions of vz58 are made by two manufacturers in Czech republic - Hermex and Novohradský

Novohradský is slightly different in front sights and the color finish. I also think that Novohradský has better quality and shoots more accurate.
The FAB accesories can be bought for example here (http://www.israeli-weapons.com/store/rail_systems/p11.htm), it's good quality for reasonable prices and they ship worldwide.

Thanks for the links! Especially the Novohradsky looks very interesting.
