Remington ACR world's first official display:
http://www.militaryphotos.net/forums/picture.php?albumid=1448&pictureid=18204 (http://www.militaryphotos.net/forums/picture.php?albumid=1448&pictureid=18204)
The displayed rifle differs a little bit from the production variant (gen.6 vs gen.8), which will be shown on ShotShow 2010. Remington completely re-designed the mechanisms compared to previous Magpul and Bushmaster designs (e.g. reciprocating charging handle), so the new rifle shouldn't have reliability problems there were rumors about.

Plus, the place of the handle it seems that it would get in the way of accesories put on top rail.
But, the company must know better

The company said it was the only way to get this thing work and they probably know what they're saying.
As for getting in the way - I'd rather worry about a taclight mounted on the side rail. It's a really very good design anyway, few small details should be improved in the production version of the weapon.
Funny thing - the rifle they were showing was a semi-only civilian market version so it should be aviable in months.
AUG with a grenade launcher:

Compact, good weight distribution.
Sig intoduced their 516 and 517 - very similar to 416 and 417, but a little lighter they are very interesting proposition. They had 556 too, which is heavier but has slightly better ergonomics.

There's "Steyr Mannlicher" written on it. It's Steyr new grenade launcher.

There's "Steyr Mannlicher" written on it. It's Steyr new grenade launcher.Nope. The grenade launcher (also called ML40A1 (http://www.altair.com.pl/start-3405)) is manufactured by Austrian company Madritsch Weapon Technology (http://www.madritsch.eu).
AG77 A1 40mm Grenade Launcher
Madritsch is a privately owned engineering company, specialising in high quality machining and finishing of components for the Austrian military.
In response to a direct request from the Austrian Army, Madritsch has developed the AG77 A1 40mm Grenade Launcher specifically for use as an underslung launcher for the Steyr AUG rifle. The AG77 A1 is now fully qualified for this purpose.
The AG77 A1 is a versatile, easy to use grenade launcher, fitted with a quick release mount which allows it to be mounted under a rifle, or used with the dedicated launcher. Being a side-opening launcher, the AG77 A1 will accept all types of 40mm low velocity ammunition.
Manufactured from the highest quality steel, aluminium and synthetic materials, the AG77 A1 is designed to withstand the harshest conditions. These materials also make it the lightest rifle grenade launcher available – a very important factor in today’s increasingly complex environment.

They said there's several different handguards available but I guess the one that was displayed (3 full length rails, 90 deg.) will be the standard one.

If that's what the Remington booth people told you then they were misinformed, the ACR WILL have a NON-reciprocating charging handle. The guys at Magpul (the company that originally designed the gun) just re-confirmed this fact in their forum on ar15.com here:
http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=2&f=124&t=174298&page=20
here is what they said taken from the link above:
"I just got back from attending Milipol this weekend.
The rifle on display had the non reciprocating charging handle and there are NO plans for a reciprocating version.
The rifle on display was an older version because it was the serial number available when the original export paperwork was submitted."
Hope this helps clear up the mis information

What I had in my hands seemed to have a reciprocating charging handle - working just like SCAR's. I can't be sure, I didn't see it being shot, but there was no way I could move the handle forward when I stopped the bolt on the bolt catch. That usually means reciprocating. Then I asked the Remington staff and they said that it is reciprocating.
There could be a misunderstanding tough, if that's the case - sorry for the mess. Personally, I don't really think that reciprocating charging handle is a problem, always increases reliability a little.

Looking at the CH, there is no button or anything on it like there was in previous versions.
I wonder if they moved to an XCR type system where you push the charging handle in to engage the bolt, and then push forward
