Hey, I recently installed a Knights RAS on my Colt LE 6920 rifle and the delta ring is not sitting flush and the rail looks crooked. Am I doing something wrong?

the upper part is not in place;
remove the screw and make sure the clamping brachet sits unter the barrel nut.

Also, make sure the spring tab at the top front of the rail is under the Handguard cap.

It took me hours to install my KAC handguard and was wondering why it was so difficult. Let me spare you the pain and let you in on a little secret.

*You install it with the barrel parallel to the ground. It doesn't work if you index your barrel to the ceiling as you would with regular handguards. By installing it horizontally, this allows the retention claw to drop onto the barrel and then slide under the barrel nut. It doesn't work any other way. Once you are done, just install the small screw. Should take less than five minutes.*

Hell, they dont even come with an installation instruction sheet. When we got ours for a rifle company I had to look at it for a while to figure it out before having the company line up with their Uppers while I installed them on a HMMWV Tailgate at North Ft. Hood.

I went through the same ordeal as the OP earlier.

As others have stated, make sure the 'legs' are under the barrel nut before you try to snap the top part of the rail in. My first go took me about 2 hours before I figured it out what to do. I can get off/on in about 10 seconds now since I've done it so many times for cleaning purposes. Getting that delta ring back is a b*tch at first though.

Once you get used to them you can install them in a few seconds. Steve2071 is correct on the trick. It's much easier with the barrel parallel to the ground.
