Was this in the article about some doctor, who was a delta in Somalia, and is now giving free medicaltreatment in his hometown somewhere in the u.s?

That picture makes Mogadishu look rather peaceful. That must be the rich area of Mogadishu.

looks like mog to me. watched numerous docos on the troubles and this pic looks very much the same as what i have seen. i think most people are thrown off by the amount of vegetation and the lack of they saw in the film. the simple answer is that the film was shot in morrocco...

It isn't Mogadishu but Moga

Its called Mogadishu... not moga... and Soldiers that were stationed there between 1992-1993 called it "The mog". I have no idea where you got "Moga" from.

Also, it does look like it could be Mogadishu to me, but Somalia for the most part IS very dry, but theres still lots of vegitation, but a lot of its not green... in cities, its very green.

Looks a little bit to green for mog. and it looks as if the right one is preparing for rappeling. but as far as I know only the ranger teams and later a rescue team rappeled in.

I saw this Pic of Delta when I first started viewing the forum. There is this and several other authenic pics from "The Mog." If some of the Moderators would please repost these pics. They all have B.H.- DOWN style gear. Black web gear. Tri-desert pattern D.C.U.'s. ;)

It is a Delta operator and it is over Mogadishu (Taken from Super 68). The picture was posted at BHD93 by a Ranger who had served on the CSAR team and later fastroped in at the Super 61 crash site. I don't recall him ever saying that the photograph was taken on October 3rd which leads me to believe it was taken on one of the previous missions or during one of the flyovers, he simply said that the soldier had since retired.
