the bigger one seems to be an Oscar class submarine (the Kursk) (http://www.naval-technology.com/projects/oscar/images/oscar4.jpg) while the smaller is a Kilo Class Diesel-Electric (http://www.naval-technology.com/projects/kilo/images/kilo3.jpg).

Of course I could be wrong, as my knowledge of submarines is in a sad state...

In the first picture, the battleship on the left has a 2-gun A turrent, while the ship on the right a 4-gun A turret. The bridges of the 2 ships are also different. I am not sure whether the 2 ships are of different classes, or the right one is an upgraded sister ship of the left one, as implied by Ghost Wolf's cosmetic surgery metaphor.

In the 2nd piture, the 2 subs are clearly of different classes, but they fit the cosmetic surgery theme of the post. Augmentation procedure... enlargement procedure... get it? Haha:)
