Walked into a local sporting goods store last weekend, sometime they have some nice old WW 2 era rifle. This time I spotted several AKs on the rack, some with folding stocks, various muzzle brakes, and flash suppressors. Some even appeared to have bayonet lugs on them. I suppose the Brady Bill provisions expired? Anyway to the point: I examined a few and noticed only the markings "TAPCO" on them, and I couldn't find any import stamps. What is this company? Are they reworking AKs and adding on a few accesories?

Anyone familiar with TAPCO??

They are after market furniture stuff. I don't like it. I like my AK OG. Just how I roll.

TAPCO makes alot of aftermarket bodies and accessories
a simple search would have brought it up
http://www.tapco.com/

I think the Brady Bill covers the manufacture and sale of new weapons, not existing ones.

What Zeke and Henry said.

There are a few items, like AK and FAL 92(r) compliance parts, that are worthwhile, but for a large part, Tapco's parts and accessories are aimed at the trailerpark/ghetto folk who think they're tacticooling their SKS or AK rifles, when in reality, they're putting a bunch of needless crappy bullshlt on their weapons.

Brady Bill only pertained to handguns. You are looking for the old The Hughes Amendment that dealt with modifying fully automatic weapons or the 'assault weapons' ban that expired in 06.
