I remember as I was absolutely amazed one year ago when I was reading Soldier Of Fortune article SPECIAL FORCES OD ALPHA-555 (aka "Triple Nickel") by Lance M. Bacon, especially PART 2 "The Impossible Shot" (SOF October 2003). Great story about bombing Taliban positions near Bagram. After long Internet search I gave it up and decided to re-write this item. Unfortunately it is pretty long and thus I wanna ask you all first if anyone has it on hand now, by any chance.

I had no scanner on hand this week so I made pictures of this article. Just download them and zoom in at 100% - it would be enough. This is a second part of the article - the one I´ve been spoken about previously:

You need to put in world record shot made by a Canadian Sniper in afghanastan. at a range of 2430 metres. The .50 cal is the **** now. He used U.S ammo though.

I though he used the canadian supplied match grade ammo for that shot.

no, It was American match ammo. Tac-.50 Rifle is Canadian, Not sure if it's th unertil scope. I'm guessing not with the .50.

Yup. That was an awesome shot, and the rifle and match ammo helped at lot. The spotter did most of the work though. Took the shooter three shots to pull it off, all the while relying on corrections from his spotter.

Another awesome shot was the one made by Carlos Hathcock in Vietnam. 1.42 miles or 2,285 meters. Awesome because he used a Browning M2 .50 cal machine gun rigged with a telescopic sight. No fancy sniper rifle, no match ammo. ;)
