Seen some of this so called Timor issue webbing floating around, so I was wondering if anyone know's when it was issued and if I can get my hands on some.

Regards,

the Goldfish.

Are you talking about the Land 125 stuff?

Goldfishsoldier

No, it's a pre-cursor to Land 125.

Is it the mesh vest that you had to cable tie all the pouches onto?

Goldfishsoldier

I'd say that would be it, had any experience with it?

The QM lent me his set recently for a mortar course. I was told repeatedly that it was no longer to be used and after the course I had to get rid of it.

I had an old CSM who used it, and saw an unused set that belonged to a pogue. That's about the limit of my experience. I reckon your best bet to get some would be to pester old fart seccos and sgts who were around back then for a spare set.

Using the clips that came with it resulted in pouches falling off, so cable ties were used. Also it doesn't feel like very good quality, on top of that it's shiny and I'm sure under NVG would glow.

Mate, I wouldn't worry about even tracking that stuff down. You'd probably find some floating around some pogue unit that still thinks it's Highspeed. Have you gotten your Land125 gear yet? The pack with a new private purchased frame is actually quite good, the pouches and vest is crap.

We thought we'd get around it all by wearing SORD rigs with Land125 Mag pouches that had been altered, basically chopped up so you could actually fit 2 F88 mags in them, then we got pulled up on it at the range because the directive states something about pouches cannot be altered in anyway...

Point being, go belt rig.

Yeah just gauging peoples opinion on it. I STILL haven't been issued all my Land 125 gear even after 9 months so I'm doing away with that. Bought a chest rig anyways with the mag pouches and grenade pouches being the only bits of 125 gear on it.

How did you modify the pouches to get pulled up on it though?

Yeah I haven't been issued land 125 either, go team army. Did manage to source mag pouches and grenade pouches anyway to go on my dead sexy SORD rig. I put on a dump pouch so I don't have to go through the effort of jamming the mags back in the ****ty pouches on a mag change.

You know the 3 mag pouches? I think they were the 3 mag pouches, anyway we cut the elastic off the sides of them and cut slits in to the top of the lip, mags don't fit in there otherwise it's a joke...

Patrol with the dump pouch pulled down, it's what the F88 lads were doing, saves a bit of fiddle and doesn't get in the way either.

Yeah the bloody pouges at 7CSSB are being issued it now in full, and I can't get the full issue as a rifleman! Saying that, it's pretty funny that 90% of pouges I see with Land 125 have no idea how to weave molle pouches on.rofl As for the dump pouches, I've done away with them, I hardly ever use it anyway, and it's a pain in the arse doing them back up.

It's not that hard to quickly change mags after a bit of practice.

Do you really want the full issue as a rifleman? Have you seen the full issue? It literally takes up a whole trunk. You can - honest to god - make about 3 complete sets of webbing with the full issue.

AND if you deploy with a certain Battalion, 1 or 2 of them, you have to take ALL of it with you.

Not if you are using a minimi pouch or something that is actually designed to fit an F88 mag. Even then it can take a bit of fiddling if you are doing it on the run while shouting to people and looking at stuff.

The full set is supposed to make up a belt and chest rig. I don't really want the full issue (I don't have the harness or chest rig), but I fail to see why pouges would have all there issue while we have to ration it out.

It's always been like that, Q'ies are pogues and they always hook up their mates first.

Haha neck up, that bike has been de-comissioned and is now hanging up on the wall it what is now the anti-armour store (bastards annexed it from us and we got a storage room to live in).

Yeah, I wondered why every time I strolled past recently there wasn't a bunch of hairless blokes, oiled up tanning in front of the Recon Store, instead being replaced by a bunch of jokers who believe they will actually fire a Javelin in their career.

All the pogues we brought outside would put LAND125 Mag pouches right on to their MCBAS and walk around. We'd all be rocking 100% SORD Rigs, so I didn't even bring my DPDU Stuff overseas.

Seems like the place to ask...
Is SORD gear checked out?
They had a rig entered as a prototype for our new MOLLE platform, thought it would be kinda cool if they got the contract.

SORD gear is issued to our SF, while the cheap stuff is issued to the rest of the guys.
