The mortar man is Greek Army, which also uses/used the M-1 60mm IIRC which had a round base plate I think. BTW, my unit also has them :-)

How the hell do you own your own a mortar? How can I get one, preferably 81mm.

Carried one for the hell of it on my latest course. The WO told us to lob T-flashes down the barrel to simulate ammo during hasty attacks....the officer was lease than impressed; however, we were mightely ammused.

I own a couple of mortars and 40mm launchers. They are simply DD's with a $200 tax affixed to them. You can also still manufacture DD's, just like suppressors. All you do is the Form 1 and then you can put it together.
As for getting one, go to subguns.com and strumgewehr.com and take a look. If the liberals knew what was out there they would crap eggrolls.

Yeah I think they would be Restricted Items in Aus which means you'd have to be a collector or have some bloody good reason to own one.

Yeah, there's all sorts of stuff you can own, when you have a collectors licence but it also depends on which state you live in.
AFAIK you can own a lot more different stuff in QLD, on a collectors licence, than in NSW.
