If you don't act like an arsehole nobody will ever know it was you. If you do act like an arsehole then mean bastards like me will realise who you are and will give you a non-stop barrage of verbal abuse.

Don't worry, you're not lost yet. If you want to be a "gansta rapper," fine, but I would request that you do not use words like "nigga" here. Try being yourself.

We've got a lot of different ages, colors, backgrounds (ethnically/culturally as well as occupationally), and nationalities here, so it's a tough balance to be mindful of them. However, it is important to be. Here amongst us we have veterans of Vietnam, of Lebanon, of both wars in Iraq, of Bosnia and Kosovo and many other peacekeeping operations, of at least two wars in Afghanistan, and many others. It is tough to remember not to offend them with overly-graphic or juvenile posts, but it's something we all work at. Besides those veterans, we also have kids as young as their early teens. Everyone brings something to the table, and I know that a lot of us here, including me, will give people the benefit of the doubt and hear them out, regardless of age or experience. I look forward to posts by probably the oldest, most experienced man on here, but I also look forward to posts by some of the youngest members, and a lot of folks in between. I learn a lot from them all, and try to respect them all. We have to be mindful of our audience here.

If I may make another recommendation, it might be wise to stay out of the political partisan arguments (neither Dems nor Reps are evil), and to be respectful of other cultures and religions. Those are the two big argument-causers lately, and I personally have a hard time respecting a post that so much as mentions a single political party or religion as being evil or a similar word.

To be respected here requires posting respectfully. We laugh a lot here, and making jokes is more than welcome, but make sure it’s at an appropriate time and place. Gaz, the smart man that he is, made some great recommendations. Maybe try them.

Hey, if you can see the error in the way you acted, great. Learn from your mistakes and don't do them again. Granted, none of us really made it any better on you, so really, we are all in a way to blame for the way your previous post turned out IMHO. I'm all for second chances if they are warranted, I believe this kid (if he is indeed a kid and hopefully he isn't BTK) should be entitled to the same treatment that any of us would expect. So give it to him and see how it pans out.
