I'm with MVSpartan, doesn't look like battlefield conditions to me.

But the guy who's acting as spotter is wearing the polypro sweatshirt and it's common issue. As for the for the shooter, don't think his sweatshirt is an issue item (but then again I'm not in the USMC so I can't say for sure.)
Could be this one (http://www6.mailordercentral.com/onceamarine/prodinfo.asp?number=609&variation=&aitem=15&mitem=15):

However, I know the French foreign legion issued zippered fleece sweatshirt to their troops in Bosnia. And also, the woolly pully (see pic below) sweater is commonly used throughout the world. So yeah, a sweater will stand up to combat wear.

Yes, there are called the "Atomic shirt"....don't ask me why...

There are less used now since a regulation fleece has been issued to the FR army. It's OG with a velcro for the rank and the name tag but the 2°REI also uses a CE camo fleece that was given as a Xmas gift by the regiment to each legionnaire of the 2°REI.

These fleeces can also be bought at the battalion's canteen.

Of course, this was back in '95, so things have probably changed since then.
