My paintball team are using these radios (http://www.trisquare.us/exrs.htm)...big games/scenarios have a lot of FRS/GMRS jamming and traffic that is monitored by other teams, so thats why we went with the FHSS system radios.

Now the speaker/boom mic that comes with the radios is kind of weak (http://www.trisquare.us/headset.htm)...stays in the ear ok, but the paintball mask/goggle systems make it difficult to use because they are just not tough...I've gone through 2 already. So, thinking that throat mics might do the trick, picked up one of those and I'm not exactly thrilled with the actual voice transmission...seems that the "sweet spot" for the mic keeps getting jacked because the collar moves.

So...just for experimentation, I'm picking up one of these (http://www.kawamall.com/pd_1x_t6200hnmnsp_heavy.cfm)...it's the LEO mic/speaker combo that is used all over...hasn't come in the mail yet, but will soon. The playing field can be loud, and stealth really isn't that big of a deal.

So, now that all the "this is what I got" info is out of the way, any suggestions on mic/speaker/headphone combos out there? Like I mentioned, this is for a paintball team, so it's not going to be in the real deal, but still needs to be able to take a .68 calibre projectile moving at 300FPS and keep on working, or be small/light enough to work under a paintball mask (like this (http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/5145CW83JRL._SL500_AA280_.jpg)).

The radio connections are compatible with Motorola's, so thats a good place to start eliminating 2 pin connections.

Thanks for your time.

edit: nevermind, I see you've used the radios already...

The radios are great...closest thing to civilian SINGARS I've seen yet, and the size of walkabouts.
