Its all about supply and demand. Transferable NFA weapons are a hot commodity, and full-autos more so after the '86 ban on any new transferable MGs. You'll find that most hard to come by transferable guns are easily over $10K, and unless you buy an M10/M11 pattern SMG, most full-autos are generally around $5K+. It becomes quite insulting, because the weapon itself probably doesn't ever cost more than $500 to make, and the MSRP for an LE/Mil post-86 gun is usually around $1-2K depending on the weapon. But its a seller's market (can never remember if that's a bear or a bull market), and because of the sarcity, they can demand whatever outrageous prices they want, and more likely than not, someone will spring for it.

I agree. 17,000 for full auto and all that stuff is way too much. You can buy an M4 copy from 800 to like 1200 dollars. To make it auto matic doesn't cost much at all. Cetme or g3 is like what 300 to 500. You can buy full-auto parts on ebay for like 14 bucks!

Just go here (http://www.autoweapons.com/) and look at the inventory for a wide selection of what you could buy if you have over 10K in disposal cash.

Oh, and pricey yes, but you'll find that that's about going rate for this kind of equipment.
