Residents of a suburban Ohio town are expressing shock and disbelief after police revealed that their prime suspects for a recent bank robbery are two young girls, one aged 14-16, the other as young as 12. One woman who lives in the area called it "nuts" and another expressed sadness at what could force these young children into such a desperate act.

The girls did not appear to have any weapons, and they only made off with bait money -- bills that can be easily tracked back to the bank.

This recession is forcing kids to make desperate actions when their parents stop buying them gadgets and fast food.

So two pre-adolescent girls walk into a bank unarmed, demand money, and take off with it...how? Jedi mind tricks? Seriously? What was security doing?

Most banks here don't want their employees and guards to confront any robber because it poses risks to others. You don't even have to bring weapons to rob a bank these days. All you do is pass a note with threats and a teller will give you cash. You won't get far with bate money that has dye packs in it.

Believe it or not, most Bank security with the exception of money transports are moving to the unarmed area. Liability costs are too high especially when you understand that you have the same arrest powers as they do (citizens arrest only). The new security "guards" job is to hit a switch or make a phone call to report the incident....and show where the bathrooms are at. No confrontations.
