Saudi man beheaded for attempted rape
Sunday, July 18, 2004 Posted: 1102 GMT (1902 HKT)

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia (AP) -- A Saudi man was beheaded in the kingdom's capital Sunday for attempting to rape a woman, the Interior Ministry said.

Adnan bin Ali al-Shahrani had been convicted of forcefully entering a house and trying to rape a woman inside by brandishing a knife and threatening to kill her son, a ministry statement reported by the official Saudi Press Agency said.

The statement said he was unsuccessful in his attempt, and upon his arrest, confessed to the crime. The statement said he was a convicted felon and was intoxicated when he broke into the home.

Monday's execution brings to eight the number of people executed in the kingdom this year. Last year at least 52 people, mostly drug smugglers, were beheaded.

Saudi Arabia follows a strict interpretation of Islam under which people convicted of drug trafficking, murder, rape and armed robbery are executed. Beheadings are carried out with a sword in public.

If he will have no balls won't disturb him to do it again. I think that taking off the ***** and the balls is better.

At least Saudi Arabia use beheading for a reason, they don't behead somebody just becuase they are a non-muslim or because they are of western origin as is the case with the reason case of terrorist beheadings in both Iraq and the Kingdom itself.

To be honest Secret Squirrel you're full of **** and this post proves it, you're either trying to justify the terrorist beheadings in Iraq and Saudi Arabia because a sovereign nation does it or you're trying show us that the Royal Family are a bunch of terrorists because they use beheading as a form of capital punishment.

Unless you were selectively reading, they were there. And those examples were evident in a recent thread. ;)

IIRC, Nick Berg was screaming his head off (no pun intended) as he was executed

They will be catatonic when their spinal cord on the rear of the spinal column is severed. That's one of the first things that goes. You can't move. I keep thinking about it. Very scary and horrible. Understatement.

Pretty typical of Islamic state. Intolerant, undemocratic and unjust in principle, brutal in practice. Islam is the new Nazism.

China has been doing the same thing for a long time, though without the sword.

BEIJING, China (*******) -- A former manager of several Chinese state-owned firms was executed on Friday in Beijing for embezzling more than 20 million yuan ($ 2.42 million), the official Xinhua news agency said.

Liu Weifeng was found guilty of pocketing public money. He worked as general manager of three firms -- Beijing Guoqiang Technique Co., Shenzhen CITIC Anqiang Investment Co. Ltd. and Guangzhou Zhongyi Investment Co. Ltd. -- from 1998 to 1999, it said.

Liu's death sentence was imposed by the Beijing's No. 2 Intermediate People's Court and he was executed along with six people convicted of murder, Xinhua said without elaborating.

China's leaders have said the Communist Party faces self-destruction if it fails to crack down on corruption, a scourge that toppled several imperial dynasties.

Corruption was virtually wiped out in the years after the Communists came to power in 1949 but has staged a comeback after economic refirms were introduced in the late 1970s.

Yeah well I won't start listing all the countries that have a poor justice system or still have capital punishment. Islamic ritual though tends to have more of a bloodlust involved in the execution of it's justice.
