Ok I have a question...is this pistol made in Croatia then shipped to the U.S.

Im also wonding what kind surface treatment they use on it and what parts they put the treatment on.

The Glock uses a tenifer process which if I remember correctly they put it on all metal parts. The USP also uses a treatment but they only put it on the exposed parts and not areas such as the underside of the slide...have they since then changed this?

I can tell you that whatever finish (and it looks and feels like black oxynate (form of bluing)) it's not very rust resistant from my experience. My G19 and my XD40 have been stored together and where the Glock looks fine as usual the XD has picked up some surface rust around the slide serrations.

I have two XD's. XD40 4" Ported and XD 3" sub. The finish does suck on them, but you can have them re-finished somewhere. The gun itself ROCKS!!!

Heres a good website to ask the question...http://www.hs2000talk.com/
