I needed to know the dimension of ACOG TA11 reticle dimensions. I want to use the same scope for different calibers, so I need to know the dimensions to compensat bullet drop correctly. I also wanted to get a little more out of the scope determining ranges than the shoulder stadia on bullet drop compensation scale.

So what to do? Googling got me zero results. I asked Trijicon twice, no answer.

Best I could figure out was printing paper with MOA scale on it and take a photograph through the scope. Paper was easy when I found this page:
http://incompetech.com/graphpaper/multiwidth/
One can get any kind of graphpaper as a pdf download from there, so I just dialed in the figures and printed it out. Next step was to measure out 10 meters for which I made the paper for, and fix the camera and the scope for a photograph. I found out that I had to have two photos, as I couldn't focus on reticle and the paper simultaneously for some reason. I didn't that was a problem though, I just merged the two photos.

The result is in the attachment, and I think it is correct. But is it? I counted & marked the drop in MOA on the picture starting from the middle of the donut.

And one more addition just to piss of the PC soccer mums. MT 5:16 FTW!

Focusing changes the zoom a little bit, so I wouldn't trust 100% on it. If you have a dSLR you could use a small blender (big number) to get it all focused at the same time. Have you tried calling trijicon?

I emailed Trijicon twice, calling them from Europe doesn't work that well.

I made some calculations, and if I'm correct one is able to use normal TA11 with 7.62x39 very well.

Sight zeroed in 150m (normal FDF zero range) the stadia line match within one MOA:

top of the donut: 100m
middle: 150m
bottom of the donut: 200m
1st stadia: 250m
2nd stadia: 300m
3rd stadia: 350m
4th stadia: 425m
5th stadia: 500m

Everything of course relies on my poor math skills and out of focus camera. :) Plenty can go wrong... I need to get to a long range firing line to verify this.
