Sparten?

I read a thread a while ago about the movie Sparten, anyway I was at a Block Buster today and saw it so I decide to rent it. On the way home I picked up some chinese food and was looking forward to taking refuge in my cool air conditioned basement. By the time I got there I tood the DVD out of it case and found not Sparten, but National Lampoons Mr. Wong! **** me! Anyway Mr. Wong was pretty funny but I was pretty pissed, tomarow I'm gonna rent Sparten. Have any of you guys seen it?
Is it worth the rent?

PS, theres alot of Spec Op movies (cheap) out nowadays, I saw one about a Green Beret Sniper in turkey, forgot the name though, any reccomandations?

The one... the only... BlackHawk Down. Not a cheap movie at all, very good movie IMO.

I agree, Black Hawk Down is by far the best war movie now. Tears of the Sun was alright, a little slow but nothing compared to BHD. Remember that part where the Delta Operaters are taking fire from a Somali Technical with an AA gun on it. And the Delta guys take cover behind a wall and every other second they spin around and duble tap the technical before spinning back around for cover, the actors get five stars from me.

Spartan was okay. It's more of a mystery than an action flick, and when the action does kick in, it's mediocre at best.

Try the Bourne Identity, or Spy Game. Both are excellent movies.

SpyGame is awesome, it's the mental equivalent to BHD. Non stop, Robert Redford is one badass CIA agent.

The Recruit is the best movie.

Even has a decent CIA documentary in the features.

Very realistic aspects, and unrealistic aspects are pointed out in the documentary and common sense.

Spartan (not Sparten) was really good in IMHO, more of a thriller, but a well thought out and acted film. If you like Val check out Salton Sea (one of his best). The recreation of the Kennedy assassination is some crazy sh*t.

SPARTAN was a pretty good movie. It was about what i expected it to be, except i expected a little more action. But not to worry, the small lack of action is more than made up for in plot twists and great writing and acting. In my oppinion a very realistic film.
